I wonder what the bowl committee will do with UCF. They are already down 14-0 to Memphis without their starting QB. Are they really worthy of a Peach Bowl matchup with Florida with a loss to Memphis today.

They could easily fall below the Boise State-Fresno State winner if this game gets way out of hand.

Wow. Have not seen UCF all season but their defense is awful having given up 34 points with 11 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

Ranking doesn't really matter they have win their conference and be the highest ranked group of 5 team. Fresno St. and Boise will be for the bid if UCF loses.

I don’t know how they even stay ranked ahead of us with the performance they are having so far.

huge blown call in the memphis game gives UCF some life.. clearly a chop block and the flag is picked up for some reason the call is changed

Memphis has been getting hosed on calls. I think the AAC made a call to the officials to make sure UCF stays undefeated.

Whatever happens with this year's bowl game aside, these last few weeks have done wonders for the image of UCF as a future power 5 conference member. I have to believe more than one conference will come calling when expansion happens. The positives that have been on display :
1) sellout crowds ( name a P5 that is doing that lately)
2) a raucous stadium environment
3) a location that everyone loves and is easy to get to
4) a good sized, and growing, TV market
5) located in a great area for recruiting
6) some name recognition and cache recently
7) improving academics ( already #2 in Florida in the some big programs and a new med school up and running)

I believe ucf will be the first choice in future conference expansions for the reasons above. To seal the deal, they just need to get basketball competitive. They are far and away the better choice than UConn or even Cincinnati. In reality, all they have to be is better than USF to get first choice on where to land.

There have been UCF to B12 rumors floating around for a few years now. Even before their back to back undefeated seasons.

Yes, big 12 rumors for awhile. I always thought that ucf and usf were vying for a spot. I believe ucf has pulled ahead for the reasons I mentioned above. Ucf will get invited somewhere when the next shakeup occurs.

To me, the real question is can they parlay that position into an acc bid which would be much more valuable than a big 12 bid? If I were the acc I'd take ucf over UConn, temple, navy, Memphis. The real competition is Cincinnati. I'd take ucf because the market is so much bigger potentially and because the school is just now maturing whereas cinci is a very localized market in Ohio and is already at its peak.
