UCLA fires Jim Mora / hires Chip Kelly

UCLA for decades has struck me as a program that should be really good but almost never is.

I don’t think Chip wanted anything to do with the SEC. wonder is he would have looked at any P5 opportunities had they become available. Clearly he still prefers the Northeast as he lives in New Hampshire. I just think he hates a big part of college football as far as boosters and rcreuiting.

Now that you mention it, I do recall that one of the things he didn't care for at Oregon was kissing the boosters butt. But heck, all you have to do there is chat with Phil Knight a few minutes each week I would think.

Oregon boosters hope Oregon's ultra-successful coach leaves

Yeah this is why i could have seen him somewhere there wasn’t an obnoxious booster base. Oregon not so much as Portland is only 70 Miles from Eugene. I guess there is no way to get around it. Have to think he brings his buddy mark helfich back in some capacity.

And again, Chip is a horrible fit for the SEC because of this, he’s a crusty northeast guy, wants to coach football and that’s it, he would prefer to be in the NFL without a doubt but he wasn’t a fit there or quite simply wasn’t good enough.
