They make it too easy.

It's a clear rip off of the ACC, and there is already an AAC, so there may be legal issues if they push the AAC moniker.

They could also go with the American athletic, as is on the front page of espn right now. Other wise known as the Double A, as in UConn has been sent down to AA. Makes total sense.

It'll work for exactly one year.

They won't be, after next year. Starting then, everyone will list the Big Five conferences first, followed by "the other five" (AAC, C-USA, MAC, MWC, Sunbelt).
