beat 4 seed maryland one year right? My numbers may be off because I only looked at it quickly, but I think JB has only upset a higher seeded team in the tourney a total of 5 times (UNC in 87; Kansas in 96; Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas in 03).
Probably before the last two years, but since the NC season we've definitely lost to lower seeds more than we've upset higher seeds.
2004: L to 8 seed Alabama in Sweet 16 (we were a 4 or 5 seed)
2005: L to 13 seed Vermont in First round (we were a 4 seed)
2006: L to 12 seed Texas AM in First round (we were a 5 seed)
2007: NIT
2008: NIT
2009: L to 2 seed Oklahoma in Sweet 16 (we were a 3 seed, this was the only time we went out "when we were supposed to")
2010: L to 5 seed Butler in Sweet 16 (we were a 1 seed)
2011: L to 11 seed Marquette in 2nd round (we were a 3 seed)
So, imo, we have failed to perform well in the tourney since we won the NC. We've failed to beat a single higher seeded team (0-1), and we've lost to lower seeded teams 5 times. We've definitely underachieved in the last decade.
...and this guy is more famous than Coach Cal:I actually found a picture of one of their posters.
Have you ever met a Kentucky fan? They don't care about accurate or reasonable arguments. I met someone at the sweet 16 who said he wasn't impressed with the size of the Carrier Dome and that Rupp is probably just as big or bigger.Amazing that they can go that entire thread without a single person realizing that the statistics being quoted are just plain false.
What's another 10,000 people if not negligible?Have you ever met a Kentucky fan? They don't care about accurate or reasonable arguments. I met someone at the sweet 16 who said he wasn't impressed with the size of the Carrier Dome and that Rupp is probably just as big or bigger.
Nothing id like more to beat their ass in the title game...most arrogant fan base in all of sports.
