UK fans talk SU

My numbers may be off because I only looked at it quickly, but I think JB has only upset a higher seeded team in the tourney a total of 5 times (UNC in 87; Kansas in 96; Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas in 03).
beat 4 seed maryland one year right?

Probably before the last two years, but since the NC season we've definitely lost to lower seeds more than we've upset higher seeds.

2004: L to 8 seed Alabama in Sweet 16 (we were a 4 or 5 seed)
2005: L to 13 seed Vermont in First round (we were a 4 seed)
2006: L to 12 seed Texas AM in First round (we were a 5 seed)
2007: NIT
2008: NIT
2009: L to 2 seed Oklahoma in Sweet 16 (we were a 3 seed, this was the only time we went out "when we were supposed to")
2010: L to 5 seed Butler in Sweet 16 (we were a 1 seed)
2011: L to 11 seed Marquette in 2nd round (we were a 3 seed)

So, imo, we have failed to perform well in the tourney since we won the NC. We've failed to beat a single higher seeded team (0-1), and we've lost to lower seeded teams 5 times. We've definitely underachieved in the last decade.

Depends on how you look at it, 2004 could look like an out performance. We were a 5 seed, we beat a 4, and lost in the Sweet 16. 5 seed is "supposed" to lose in round 2, we won an extra game. Then of course l ost to a lower seeded team.

I'm probably not going to read the thread, but I'm not surprised. People say the same things here about other elite teams; Iv'e read posts here about how we'll kill UK or whatever, or that UNC is soft, etc. Though if someone said we won't play zone better than Auburn, that's hilarious.

The only thing Kentucky is good for is Bourbon. There is a reason why the mullet was named "The Kentucky Waterfall". The mullet is not only a hairstyle it's a culture. One that the people of Kentucky have embraced.

I actually found a picture of one of their posters.

Honestly, Kentucky and their dipshit fans.

I've never met a fanbase that I like less than those morons--and that includes uconn fans [those of you who've attended the BET know what I mean].

UK is talented as hell, but out of all the elite teams this year they are the team I'd LOVE to play in the postseason. I'd enjoy watching their inexperienced players execute poorly against the zone.

To summarize the above: them.

Amazing that they can go that entire thread without a single person realizing that the statistics being quoted are just plain false.

Have you ever met a Kentucky fan? They don't care about accurate or reasonable arguments. I met someone at the sweet 16 who said he wasn't impressed with the size of the Carrier Dome and that Rupp is probably just as big or bigger.

What's another 10,000 people if not negligible?

Kentucky is a great team. I don't want to face Davis and Kidd-Gilchrist. Most likely they will be the second number one, which means we won't meet until the Nat'l Championship. I don't think they'll make it that far. If UK has an off shooting night against a good Big 12 or Big Ten team, they'll go down.

Nothing id like more to beat their ass in the title game...most arrogant fan base in all of sports.

I tend to agree but I bet SU would get a lot of votes for the most whiny fan base in all of sports. I saw all the comments on Decourcy's article today, following all the (weekly) moaning about Gottleib, makes Cuse fans look awful, wish more knew how to let up a bit, but I guess with any fan base the more exposure you have to them the more you will see the annoying fringe (which explains why I once drove 17 hours from rochester to minnesota thru a blizzard and rooted against the bills in the SB)

With this weather, the whining is understandable. Just wish it was a bit more creative and comical rather than some of the elementary nonsense I read from some fans.
