The refs played a BIG role in this game- they were obviously being homers for UK.
I was impressed by UL's defense & ability to keep fighting- Dieng & Russ Smith are beasts, while Siva is Scoop without a jumper.
Not overly impressed by UK- definitely beatable, & our zone would eat them alive.

My take. UK great athletes going to take on some bad losses. UL needs some work and we can take 2 from them this year. As always, they have a great press D. How do our guards handle it? We owe them a few. Our D can really give major problems to both teams. Which Melo show up when we play?

We will lose at least one game to louisville.

overall both teams suck from an offensive perspective...no flow...Louisville has no perimeter game...BOTH TEAM STRENGTHS APPEAR TO BE DEFENSE...going to be fun when we play Louisville in BE and KY in final 4...we should beat both teams as we have better offense...thought I would never say that...

Louisville's half court offense is downright abysmal. Has been all year. They have been behind for much of the year and pulled out a ton of games late using the press. Today was certainly intense on both ends but it was a disaster to watch, especially considering the interrupted flow with the 70 FT attempts. But still, you know they hit 14 3s against us, you just know it.

Interesting thing I just saw on Louisville; they don't shoot nearly as many 3's as in the past.

They usually shoot a ton of 3's against us; they don't always shoot them well, but they shoot a lot of them. Last year, they shot 13-27, which of course is ridiculous. The year prior they shot 12-40 and 9-30. The year before it was 8-31 and 10-28.

More often than not, they don't shoot very well. But they've taken at leats 27 3's in each of the last 5 games. Will be interesting to see, since they don't shot as many now.

Anyone else find it extremely annoying listening to the announcers say Kidd-Gilchrist every time he touches the ball. Can't he just go by Gilchrist - wasn't he just Michael Gilchrist before?

He changed his name to honor his late uncle...as they like to mention during EVERY UK game.

I don't have a problem with it necesarily, I just find it annoying. Something about how it sounds when the announcers say it repeatedly - like it's a nickname or something and not the kid's last name. Plus, he just added it apparently so that may play a part in it.

If Scoop was suddenly being called Kidd-Jardine every 15 seconds I think it might be annoying too. Who knows.

I don't remember him being Gilchrist only, so for me, it's no different than referring to Michael Carter Williams, or Darius Johnson-Odom.
