“us coaches have wives and families” sounds like his wife wants out of Louisville hah

I’ve never been to either but is Columbia that much better than Louisville?

Never been, but I have heard from those in the know that the weather in Columbia is exactly like in a human armpit. On a 120 degree day.

Exactly.

Yup...there is this little heat belt that runs roughly from Columbia, SC to Macon, GA in a crescent. It is generally having the highest heat and humidity in all the Deep South in the summer. Coastal Florida is much better in the summer.

The heat and humidity of the Amazon combined with typical dumpy state capital vibe...

By my count Louisville has commitments from 6 players we offered:

S - Ben Perry 6-3 190 / Mount Carmel, Chicago, IL - 4 star
DE - Victoine Brown 6-4 227 / Grayson, Loganville, GA - 3 Star
CB - Rance Conner 5-10 173 / Booker T Washington, Miami, FL - 3 Star
CB - Derrick Edwards 5-11 175 / Space Coast, Cocoa, FL - 3 Star
WR - Ahmari Huggins-Bruce 5-10 163 / Dillon, Dillon, SC - 3 Star
RB - Trevion Cooley 5-11 208 / Knightdale, Knightdale, NC - 3 Star

These players all have dozens of P5 Offers and rank higher than pretty much any kid we have. I'd kick the tires of the Safety and the Running Back.

Columbia is a two hour drive to Charleston. Louisville seems like a pretty neat city. Emerging food scene that was notable enough for Top Chef to do a season in Kentucky. Bourbon, horseracing, growing city. There are likely worse places to live.

He messed up. He should have just said they were interested in his opinion on the job and any potential candidates. Follow that sentence with, "I am fully committed to coaching my players at Louisville and putting the best team on the field every week. " Keep repeating this whenever asked about the USC job.
