Funny thing is that our BBall program is a perennial recruiting powerhouse. They've done this by tap dancing in and around the "gray area" of the NCAA rulebook.

But our prim-n-proper football program follows the rules-n-regs to the letter of the law...and loses most ever top recruit it chases after.

Why is it that we aren't "bending" the rules again?

I'm not sure that's a fair comparison. If the football team were to regularly have more (8-10+) wins a season would some of those recruiting battles be won? Are you suggesting that HCPP wasn't "prim-n-proper"? If not, then winning (both games and winning-recruiting-battles) and playing by the rules do not have to be mutually exclusive.
