UNC vs Providence

I wonder if Chukwa decided to leave Providence because they have Bentil. Kid is a beast

Even after the explanation, I'm not overly happy with that 5th foul call of his.

I wonder how many folks on here will be rooting for Bryce Johnson and friends over Thomas Bryant and Indiana?

Looks like a solid win for the ACC. Don't know why so many are against UNC.

I am rooting for six to the sweet sixteen.

Eh, it's a Big East team! I'm torn, but factor in the underdog status, and that Dunn is awesome and I start to root for Providence.

I just hate Bryce Johnson a lot, otherwise, this UNC team wouldn't be bad at all.

I disliked UNC and Duke ages before Boeheim was BANished to the acc... long before people on here used to mock them for being a 2 team conference. I can't speak for others, but it's been hard for me to suddenly like them, if that makes sense. I'm gradually coming to accept that some of you do and biting my tongue more often to prevent inciting riots.

No one is calling it a 2 team league when 6 of them are in the sweet sixteen. This is the new ACC.

And the new ACC having 6 in makes the people moaning about SU getting in look even more foolish.

And finally if this league dominance can continue a little longer it will pick up hype.

UNC plays an exciting brand of basketball, I am glad to see it do well.

Ha, I was in no way trying to say it was still a 2 team conference, but trying to build a timeline for how long I have disliked those 2 teams.

To say it briefly, I'd like to see SYRACUSE finally do something that doesnt require us taking pride in the accomplishments of UNC and Duke(or anyone). Wouldnt that be nice? When Duke was winning titles, did they care what we thought of their crappy conference?

What? This is like rooting for the Empire, or the Legion of Doom, or Cobra Kai Dojo.

Georgia, Florida and Bama fans all root for each other OOC and in bowl games because SEC SEC SEC.

I don't see why we can't do the same for Basketball. I actually like UNC when we're not playing them.

its alot easier to root for NC than for Duke though. no issue with miami right now either.

It sort of comes down to the teams for me. Last year, I kind of liked Winslow, Okafor, etc...

This year, I don't like Grayson Allen. Even if I want to root for the ACC, once I'm watching, I start naturally rooting for the other team. I mean, how do you not start pulling for Yale once you see Plumlee being a Plumlee for the 10th straight year on Duke, and Allen smirking? I try...I'm just not capable.

Same with UNC, if the team is likable I have no real issue, but watching Bryce Johnson scream, start shaking violently and stomping his feet after every big play (good or bad) just gets tiresome. No matter how I start, I can't help but switch to Providence. Dunn, etc...are more likable.

UVA is hard to hate. They work hard, no players that bother my eyes.

Pitt is easy to hate for obvious reasons.

Kind of always works that way for me.

To LongIsland's point, I think it's probably easier in football, because individuals are less of a highlight/spotlight during the games.
