so if you turn on the TV on saturday and didn't know Northwestern was wearing those unis for the Wounded Warriors Foundation you'd make that link in your head?
Also, taking shots at me was real necessary, thanks. I'm passionate about these things because my family has been affected by cancer and I'm sick of the breast cancer awareness BS and all the other awareness stuff that just uses that as a front to make money. Donate all the money directly to the Wounded Warrior foundation, they'd be much better off with that than some stupid uniforms.
It sure seems like a bending of the rule of not using a flag for apparel (as noted in the comments section of the article), especially considering the design includes a tattered flag that could be taken for blood. IMO, that is in pretty poor taste.
Separately, it is great to push awareness for this cause, and I know this isn't isolated to this case, but it seems NW and UA could have taken a different path and/or additional path in order to do so.
Will this be an annual thing? Will there be additional events? Would like to know. Seems that this could grow a lot more.
Also, would like to know how this has worked, positively/negatively with other teams/charities.
