I'm not going to say that this is going to be a major factor, but if either MCW or CJ is on the fence on his decision, do you think the possibility of playing in the ACC factors in?

They haven't had the chance to play at Cameron Indoor or to go toe to toe with Duke, UNC, etc. MCW would get a homecoming game at Boston College (we'll have a home and home with them, I believe)... Fair could potentially get a homecoming game at Maryland.

That said I think the biggest factor is where they are told they are likely to go, but this might be a bonus to staying if it's close.

Are we guaranteed a home and home with all ACC teams? We've been in the 137 team Big East for so long that I guess I just assumed that you aren't guaranteed two games against every opponent in your conference.

And no way that Unfair (which, come on, has to be his nickname...it's the most obvious one ever, Thickburger aside) goes this year. None. He's not even in Chad Ford's top 40.

C.J. is going to do his due diligence and evaluating his situation unless he gets the green light that he is a lock for the 1st round I don't think he will go. I think he is 90% returning and playing @Maryland won't be a major factor for him.
The only 1 in 10 chance that Michael Carter-Williams returns next year is if his parents want him to graduate. I don't think playing @Boston College will have any impact considering we played @Providence which is less than an hour away from Boston these 2 past years. Michael Carter-Williams isn't going to comeback because of the allure of playing in the ACC when the Big East has been the better conference these past 5 years.
The chance both of them return is 5%, the chance Fair returns only is 90%, the chance only MCW returns 0%, the chance neither returns 10%.

So you're pretty sure Fair is returning... I'm less extreme on both. I'd put fair at maybe 80% to return and Carter-Williams at maybe 15%.

Like I said, I don't think this is a major factor but if one of them is really hung up and can't decide, it might be a factor.

I also wouldn't call it the allure of playing in the ACC, as I agree it's a weaker conference than the Big East was this year (although that could help the draft stock if they put up bigger numbers), but these two have a rare opportunity to play in the best conference tournament at MSG, play some huge Big East games in a variety of venues and to also play Duke and UNC in conference... The allure would be more in the variety and the specific experiences than the conference overall.

If CJ leaves it would be a HUGE mistake. I think he would absolutely be drafted in the second round, but he's not a first round pick this year, and I think there's a much better chance he'd wind up in the NBDL than the NBA if he leaves.

On the flip side, if he comes back, he has a chance to be an All-American, and SHOULD be a Naismith nominee, and depending on his offseason improvement should work his way into the second half of the first round next year.

He's in edowd's top 1, and thats all that matters. Cj's the man.

15 ACC teams ... 18 game schedule.

We will have home and homes with only 4 teams (and BC will be one of them).

It'll take two seasons to hit every ACC road venue. I assume we'll get either Duke or UNC on the road every season and the other one at home.

The argument for Fair returning is much more solid than for MCW.

MCW will get drafted on potential. His measurables are fantastic from an NBAscout perspective, and he's shown enough to scouts to justify their belief that there is more to him. If he comes back his potential will drop, as he's a year older, and any lack of progress he shows next year would be a killer.

For Fair, JB has a history of taking guys in his position, featuring them as Seniors, and having them be high draft picks. Fair won't get drafted on potential. Fair will get drafted based on what he shows the scouts. JB will put him in a position next year to show the scouts everything they are looking for.

To me, it's an easy decision for both guys.

CJ is my favorite Syracuse player in recent memory. At least since Gerry, I'd say. So I'm right there with you. You have to love a smart, super athletic kid who just puts up his points, is never even remotely linked to controversy (knock on wood), and gets the job done while improving every year. My 2 year old's first basketball jersey is a CJ jersey (his first ever jersey is a LeSean McCoy Eagles jersey).

Whatd he do for that kind of punishment?punch your wife? Osi!!!!

We know 4 of our 18 ACC games next year are home and homes with Boston College and Pitt. From what I have heard here in NC neither Duke OR North Carolina will play @Comcast Center in Maryland's last year in the conference so with that information(while I am mad at Maryland leaving I hope the ACC reconsiders this and atleast send North Carolina to the Comcast Center) you can pretty believe that Syracuse will be the highlight of Maryland's home schedule. I can't see the ACC not sending atleast one of Syracuse, Duke, or North Carolina to play at Maryland so C.J. would probably get his home game in Maryland. I don't think C.J. will leave unless he is sure he will likely be a first round pick and he needs to work this offseason on going right and developing a little more diversity to his offensive game. Michael Carter-Williams is gone unless he wants the diploma, but he can earn the diploma taking summer courses I think he is pretty gone.

Even after the city tried to poop on mcnabb? I question your soul.
I won't lie, I became an Eagles fan because of McNabb (I was a kid in Vermont when they drafted him, I didn't have many NFL options because I hated Parcells and the Pats and was more of a college fan), but after rooting for the team for more than a decade, I became an actual fan of the entire franchise, not just one player.

But they definitely gave him a raw deal and, while a fan of the team, I'm somewhat satisfied that the Philly fanbase is learning what life without D Nabb 5 is like the hard way. I'm also thrilled that Andy Reid is finally gone so they'll hopefully give the ball to #25 over and over and over since he's one of the most dynamic players in the league.

You know he played at Pitt right? I judge people solely on what uni the attended. Eli gets a hall pass... 2 rings baby.

Yes, and I hated him at Pitt. But now he plays for my team, so I love him. I even rock his jersey frequently, along with my son, who just looks tremendously adorable in his still oversized Shady jersey.

Can I do your boy a favor and send him a #91 giants Jersey?

Only if you want me to burn it. My mother-in-law's husband is a Giants fan and we already have too many NYG items hanging in my son's closet. Never again.

Kinda similar to Ewing and the Knicks. Neither guy won a title, but it was easy to take them for granted until they were gone

Weird most dudes want their sons to grow up to be men. Boom.

Is your mom a hoya or something.

Can an underclassman still declare with the intentions of coming back if he pays his way to camps? I remember the ACC having tight deadlines.

While I like Fair, I could see him in the D League next year along with MCW should he declare early.
