If they wear blue pants, grey shirts, white helmets, then my work here is done.
These unis are dope!

Millhouse, are you a closet Nike designer? I'd vote far left as they have less orange in them and I'm a traditionalist. These unis are dope!
great, you know that chip has a bot that lets him know anytime the word closet is typed onto this board, right?Millhouse, are you a closet Nike designer? I'd vote far left as they have less orange in them and I'm a traditionalist.
People can feel whatever they want about the uniforms we wear( I personally hate all the blue) however the fact the SU AD office has tried to actually sell the fanbase that Nike couldn't manufacture orange pants or orange tops is just mind boggling. These unis are dope!
i had to hold back from making them look even dumber to avoid people thinking that i pasted maryland's uniformsMillhouse, are you a closet Nike designer? I'd vote far left as they have less orange in them and I'm a traditionalist.
That sounds like a Giansante-ism. I'm stealing this from former Red Pokey Reese (said about Jim Bowden)..."How do you know Joe Giansante is lying?"..."His lips are moving."People can feel whatever they want about the uniforms we wear( I personally hate all the blue) however the fact the SU AD office has tried to actually sell the fanbase that Nike couldn't manufacture orange pants or orange tops is just mind boggling.

Major props on a Pokey Reese reference. He's no Wayne Krenchicki or Kal Daniels, but a fine choice indeed! That sounds like a Giansante-ism. I'm stealing this from former Red Pokey Reese (said about Jim Bowden)..."How do you know Joe Giansante is lying?"..."His lips are moving."
KaiserUEO said:clemson looked awesome on saturday night. apparently their recruits wanted to wear ORANGE. their recruits are better than ours too. ours are also the dumbass flucks who want to come to a school named the ORANGE, but want to wear blue. or maybe the recruits dont give a shlit, and its just the dumbass flucks here who say that...
Haha. I figured it was so outlandish I didn't have to put a sarcasm label on it. Hahaha. My bad. Definitely not trueHold up... This is true?!?!
So we spend tons of time and money on designing and purchasing new uniforms. We use them as a significant part of our program's marketing efforts. We proclaim to the world that they MATTER to recruits...
And we let student managers select the combos each week?
No frickin' way.
REALLY?!
Does this manager realize the nickname of our University is the Orange. I mean using blue helmets one time a year okay, but what the hell would want motivate anybody to say I wish we were wearing blue helmets when we are the Orange is just shocking.
I know this may shock you, but Nike's struggle to provide specific color uniforms to a team is not just a Syracuse thing. If you haven't noticed, the Philadelphia Eagles (best team in football, fly Eagles, fly) have not worn their green jerseys all season. Why? Nike was, for whatever reason (same as Syracuse's jerseys) unable to create uniforms in the green that the Eagles use. So literally, Nike is unable to develop some colors in a timely fashion... it may seem crazy and ridiculous (it is for a company of that size and stature), but it's not a Syracuse specific issue! With that in mind, can posters on this board stop spinning the lack of Orange jerseys as some super secret SU conspiracy theory?People can feel whatever they want about the uniforms we wear( I personally hate all the blue) however the fact the SU AD office has tried to actually sell the fanbase that Nike couldn't manufacture orange pants or orange tops is just mind boggling.
Pre-season, I thought this was the best of the sorry lot offered (or maybe with the half blue helmet).the grey jerseys and blue pants look sharp w the orange helmets. its probably the best look we have.
I am not sure what is worse, a huge multi-billion dollar corporation claiming they can't make uniforms certain colors or a huge multi-billion dollar corporation having the ability but mysteriously lying about it for no apparent reason.I know this may shock you, but Nike's struggle to provide specific color uniforms to a team is not just a Syracuse thing. I don't care about Orange jerseys. Just provide the team with Orange pants so that 10+ times a year they can at least resemble the Orangemen. With that in mind, can posters on this board stop spinning the lack of Orange jerseys as some super secret SU conspiracy theory?

I have seen Oregon State's uniforms for this season. This color of orange, if not an exact match for the color orange Syracuse traditionally wears, is certainly closer to it than the infamous pumpkin uniforms Nike made us wear a few years ago, or the orange in the white uniforms we wore again on Saturday.
I guess the other possibility is that Joe Giansante is lying. Too disillusioned to bother to look up exactly what was said and who said it.
But clearly Nike could have produce orange uniforms for Syracuse, and if you look at Oregon and other schools, they could have provided the Eagles with green as well.
Damn right.commence 10 page thread about needing orange and bringing back the mcnabb uniforms...
How freakin difficult can Orange be? SU has an official color - hell, there is even a web page devoted to it. - Nike doesn't need to come up with a new one.I've worked with colleges doing design work - and they can be very picky on exact matches (Pantone codes). It may be that Nike can't produce the correct pantone color en masse for us.
It might also be a matching the metallic orange to the jersey orange is proving to be problematic.
Not making excuses - for a company that size - they should be on it. But it's not as easy as one might imagine.
