Unit vs Unit Clemson/Syracuse comparison

Didn't you hear? Joe Montana blessed Tyler Lawrence's throwing arm in a bucket of Gatorade before his first pee-wee game. It's supposedly more effective than Mike's Secret Stuff in Space Jam.

The day to day sarcastic and non belief regarding TL on this board is comical. Have 8you sat down and watched this kid play? Seen his size, poise, delivery, pocket presence, and feel for the game? Fb has never seen a 6'6" lefty and he runs like a gazelle. Sure, he is young and we haven't seen much but what some forget is that these coaches base decisions more on what transpires in practice and TL was so impressive that KB, a senior leader and CFB playoff vet, saw the writing on the wall. THAT'S just how good this kid is. If you think for one second that Clemson planned on playing a 2 qn system, no way. They were slowly increasing reps weekly and KB was the stop gap eating up some plays.

This kid takes Clemson over the top. And , yes, their OL is better than ours and an oline unlike anything we have played this year including FSU.

Qb - Syracuse
RB - Clemson
OL- Syracuse
WR - Clemson
TE - Clemson

Special Teams - Syracuse

DL - Clemson
LB - Clemson
Safety - Push
Cornerback - Clemson

While many units are arguable, I think this goes to show the TALENT and DEPTH that Dino Babers has built over the past few years.

Post/share what you think.

***I value experience and proven heroics over highschool ratings and hair ;)

Like your thoughts but IMHO think that the qb edge is almost 2 close to call. After like 2-3 starts, TL will be the top qb in all but 2 or 3 matchups.

Also, as much improved is our OL is, Clemsons talent and depth is better as is their skill at TE. We actually dont have a proven solid TE. RP has flashed but cant stay healthy and is a loose cannon. When healthy he is dynamic but a bit undersized when it comes to P5 ball. Clemson wins there too...

Calm down Sally, it's a joke.

This game will likely be won on turnovers and explosive plays.

We have a good chance of winning the former and Clemson has an edge on the latter.

How many of each is probably determinative.

LGO!

As long as Dungey is on the field remotely healthy, there’s no qb I think can impact the game more

I love ED and have been a huge ED proponent the last 4 years. That said, i have to say there are a group of qbs that may impact the game more and its elite company like Tua @ Bama and the auburn qb for starters. ED may be the most valuable to his offense, esp this year with a very pedestrian at best wr group and a running game tryiimg to find its way. If there were a MVP in CFB, he would be a front runner.

Every unit for Clemson is better than us. Every single one. It's not even close. Only place I give Cuse an edge (and it is slight) is mobility and intangibles at QB and punter.

I think this game really comes down to special teams and the LOS. Everything else is a wash. Both teams will have big plays on offense, but who is consistently good and not occasionally great? Special teams has been a game changer for us. Needs to remain that way if we are going to have a chance to win.

Chip is going to be so disappointed by the contents of what he thought would be the thread of his dreams based on the title
I legitimately laughed

Lawrence isn't a lefty

Lots of disrespect for the Clemson WRs. Babers sure thinks they are outstanding. He also talked about our speed deficiencies. Renfro is outstanding. Amari Rodgers is a Tyreek Hill clone. 6’5 Tee Higgins is former Mr. Tennessee and Under Armour game selection. Our secondary will have to play the game of their lives. If that QB kid has time then he’ll pick us apart. His arm is that good and talented.

Good post OP love this stuff I think this game is going to have a ton of possessions/plays and there will be times you think us and Clemson are each in control.

I just think we have the edge at QB and its by a lot. They have to throw to beat us but we will pack the box and send pressure. Get the game ugly keep it close late and we'll pull this out.
