Defense is pretty good about not giving up explosive plays and they are friggin pitiful in terms of efficiency. we make it too easy to get ho hum first downs. I'm not sure what the defense can do to dial down this tradeoff. they need to take more insane chances at the risk of giving up bigger plays.

offense is no longer that explosive, wake and CMU games fade and better opponents become more represented. but it's still way better than it was.

The DL Havoc Rate looks really good (probably should be renamed Sugar Bear Havoc Rate) but that LB Havoc Rate is not good at all and actually a little surprising to me, especially after Franklin's last game.

I wonder if that is the trade off we will see. Limit the explosive plays by playing soft and not letting ourselves get beat deep but instead we give up the underneath stuff and easy first downs. Bend dont break style instead of the aggressive blitzing style.

all that and a couple plays away from 5-2 and no doom and gloom. played more than well enough to win without really changing anything, some times yet get the breaks some times you dont. the refs call the penalty on the fake and maybe we do down 30 yds and score and win. ishmail doesnt drop a 1st down pass and we get a TD instead of FG late. a player doesnt accidentally grab a face mask against VIRG. small margins of error.. look at Neb 5 losses by 13 pts, hail marys and late plays losses. stuff happens.. its a much bigger deal that the games are in doubt late to show we are trending the right way in many areas even with some glaring issues. Gt lost 5 in a row then beats FSU on a miracle. stuff happens
