Not to be that guy but if there was ever wishful thinking that was it. When you start out the story by noting the team is losing Grant Ament, the all-time points scorer in Big Ten and Penn State program history, your argument is pretty much shot already. This is like SU fans arguing that the 05 season was going to be even better at attack despite losing Mike Powell.

exactly right. PSU has talented players, but jeez, the ball was in Ament's stick a ton and he made a lot of plays. Generally I like PSU, so I hope they do well, but this is wishful thinking.

Among the starters they only lost Ament. They did also lose Kevin Hill from the 2nd midfield.
They do have two former All-Americans in O'Keefe and Jack Kelly (51 points in 2019). An established scorer in TJ Malone, who might develop into an All-American. Another established scorer in Foulds. The fifth returnee Jack Traynor was showing nice signs last spring and is entering his junior season. With a number of talented players waiting their turn, in a normal season, this would look pretty good.
