The demise of the Big East killed them. They are building an on-campus stadium, trying to make a splash that way. It helped UCF, their I-4 rival to the east.

Considering all the talented high schoolers in Florida, I don't understand how USF has four wins in the last three seasons.

They get some of their top guys back and healthy next season too.

They have been completely surpassed by UCF. The Big East gave USF a platform to assert itself as one of the premier programs in Florida and they squandered it failing to invest in the program. An on-campus stadium is too little too late. Cincinnati did just fine after the Big East collapsed. Even UConn is trying. USF did nothing.

USF and UCF are a case study on how investing even limited resources and money into a program yields results.
