This is my first year with a season seat up in the corner on the 3rd deck. My seat is next to the entrance/exit, in row C. I knew when I bought it there may be an issue with people walking in front of me while the game was going on but I didn't think it was going to be this bad.

The people that arrive late, parents who think their kids are farkeling adorable trying to walk up the steps by themselves, the guys that can't hold a pee for one freaking half, and the topper was the FARKELING BUS LOAD of people who showed up with a minute left in the first half! There had to be 25 people in this group taking their time going up the steps!

What happened to the ushers holding people on the ramp until there was a dead ball? Does this only happen for those in the field seats and 2nd level? There were 24,000 at the game last night, I can't imagine what it's going to be like once we really get going. And I wasn't the only one complaining, others in the rows around me commented on it as well.

And they also need to offer more beer stations that have craft beer. I waited in line 15 minutes to get a Middle Ages last night. There were 2 lines queued up with at least 50 people each.

Other than these two gripes that drove me crazy, the game was great last night and I was damn glad I was there.

Imagine how bad it would have been if there were really 24k there!
My usher in 309 is very on top of that practice, maybe too much. But I can see why that work annoy.

Some ushers hold people until a dead ball. They're supposed to. For the second consecutive year, Dome management is rotating ushers around the building for different games. So they're not always consistent. But the movement of people is kind of frustrating.

Dumb move by the Dome not to keep more concessions (and the backcourt) open. They knew they've sold 4,000 more season tickets and would be getting a big crowd. The football team's not in town. No good reason not to treat this like a real game with full concessions.

Kelly, I would suggest you get to know your usher, and talk to him politely (with a distressed look on your face) about the problem you experienced in the Cornell game. Ask him what could be done. So far we always have the same usher in 309, Bill, and he is a great guy. Always good to have an usher know your face!

Good luck!

Section III Finals are in the Dome starting at Noon Saturday.

Much easier to convert from BB to FB if you don't have the full BB set-up to begin with.

I wasn't aware of sectionals, so that makes sense.

Still, SU has employees to do these tasks. They've got a lot of extra revenue from the increased ticket sales. They know there's a decent crowd on Friday; budget some extra hours to pick up the blue floor after having the full basketball set-up for the game.

They're making a habit of cutting corners in order to lessen their workload (they did this for the DePaul Senior Night game, running a limited operation and moving up the tip time on a weeknight) and it results in a less enjoyable experience for a lot of fans. Not a good move, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm in 305 in one of the corner seats. As bballbeadle said, I think I'll get to know the usher and see if I can coax him to to put a hold on the traffic while the ball is live. I know they announced 24K and it seemed like there was a lot of people there. But I'm also used to the football games where you have the whole dome open and not confined to one side.

And for football they only have 2 craft beer concessions but I've never seen lines like they had last night. I really was ridiculous, to the point where I almost caved and bought a Bud Light.

Get off your lawn too?

I've always been a big fan of this. I feel like the only sport where they take it deadly serious is the NHL.

I had never really experienced it outside of the NHL until I went to a Washington Nationals game in September. They were DEADLY serious about it. First time I've ever seen it at a baseball game, as far as I can recall.

The long wait for the end of your Middle Ages quest could have been the Dome's attempt to impart some reality and historical significance into the namesake ;)

I hate people who show up late. Drives me up a freaking wall. I want to literally kill these people. Get to the damn game on time or dont come. There isnt an excuse you can give me (including "traffic") that i am buying. Leave earlier

Can't go to your seat during a Mariner baseball game when a batter is up even if you have $ 300 tix. And we have not been good or have had a big regular crowd for years.

Stop being a beer snob and grab a Bud Light.

You sounds a lot like me. You should be concerned.

They do it at Lynah Rink and at Citizens Bank Park for Phillies games. Maybe it has something to do with risk management fearing someone's going to get clocked by a puck or baseball.

I had to bump this thread after complaining about the ushers because they've really done a hell of a job since the Cornell game. I gotta give it to these guys for the crap they put up with trying to direct traffic for the imbeciles that show up late. Had one of these dolts drop a beer under my seat while taking a face plant going up the stairs today, usher had the clean up crew there in no time. The guy managing our section is a diehard 'cuse fan so I'm stabbing myself for being such a whiny bitch at the start of the season because he's really been great since then. What a hell of a game today, I'm wiped but Jesus to Christ I was glad to be there.

I'll like every one of your posts as long as you have that awesome avatar. ;)
