USMNT 2025

Musah will make the team.

I think so, too, but he's gotta play. It depends on how well Cardoso does at Athletico Madrid. If he is a regular for them, he'll take Musah's spot.

Or else Musah will take McKennie's. McKennie was not good in the last window, losing possession and making bad passes all over the place.

I'm a huge fan of Tanner Tessmann so I'll keep an eye on him this year in France.

ESPN with an article projecting next summer's World Cup roster, and omissions.

Looking at that, there are some pretty talented players that are going to be left off.

Not enamored with our defense.

I liked Syracuse's Miles Robinson, who had a great early start to his national career, but has had injury problems. ACL a couple years ago, I believe.

He looked terrible against Jamie Gittens in the Milan v Chelsea game the other day.
My thinking is that a move (hopefully to Napoli) will get him on track. Milan has been poor for his development.

It's a shame, because he had a great support network there - not just Pulisic, but 3 of his Chelsea teammates, too, who Christian was / is close to. That gives you a good group of guys to welcome you into a team.

Ehhhhh. Poch has wasted a crucial window. Red flag for me.

Why do you say that?
Yes, McKennie and Musah are missing from midfield.
Yes, a couple CBs are missing.
Yes, a couple CFs are missing, but none of them have won the position.

Musah McKennie Tessmann Scally McKenzie Pepi Balogun Cardoso Wright etc.

My comment moreso to me is that the potential core group and final roster should be training together more than not right?

The time to get looks at new players should be gone. I understand guys staying at club to settle in or injuries but really there's only three windows left to play together.

Each time it's crucial to get the players with each other.

Absolutely fair point. Too many guys remain missing.

At least despite a lack of direction and results heading closer to the WC it seems MLS tv ratings are still strong if not better. I do wonder how that ends up being impacted if we flop next summer on our own soil nonetheless…

I know MLS viewership may not be a complete picture of popularity here given many watch the euro leagues but I do wonder how far backwards we have fallen.

I just had this conversation. MLS to me has met one criteria of success, attendance is good and TV watching is good (could be better).

The second criteria which has acres of room to grow is clubs developing players from the Academy to Europe.

For the money and player registration to levels it's not nearly enough.

People agree with you; Poch is wasting a window.

ESPN with an article taking a closer look at how Reyna may fit at Gladbach. I don't think they're expecting too much of him. If he can stay healthy, it might be a great signing.

Defense was poor vs. South Korea. No life, no comeback.
Really rough commentary; Lallas calling for Poch to be fired

First half v. Japan. Looks better, Nice effort. Pretty good pressing.
Balogun causes problems. Freeman as a wingback works well.
Three at the back doesn't have to be too defensive. Improvement.

Looked pretty strong. Zendajas’ goal was really nice. We played composed. Roldan was a cdm? Freese was solid tonight. Made some saves that could have changed the momentum. Flo’s goal was a composed finish. Dest looked great in his limited minutes Was great to see the team rebound. Nice to see for sure, wished it was a stronger game against S Korea

So if Tim Ream is at the level enough to start in 2026 he's my radical? 3 CB XI.

3-4-2-1
Turner
McKenzie Richards Ream
Dest McKennie Adams Robinson
Pulisic Weah
Take your pick (Sargent, Pepi, Balogun)

Dest may not have the chops to start at wingback so maybe Scally and Dest off the bench for more attacking.

Arfstan and Freeman may be ahead of scally. Balogun is number 1 I would think. Pepi needs to be callled in to get run but I think Sargent is out. Definitely interesting to see play out

I just want to see them all compete head to head in multiple upcoming camps. As long as you're a regular starter at club level im good.

Sargeant has had about 100 chances to impress. Next.
