OMG. And we think we have it bad. Utah guy drops the ball as he is crossing into the end zone. But as we have seen before, he dropped it right before crossing over the line. A few seconds passed, and then Oregon picks it up and runs it back for a touch down. Announcers were even confused. But replay shows it is correct. Officials still discussing. Utah would be up 14-0. Instead it will be 7-7

Utah is celebrating in the end zone. It was total cluster -k. Officials just confirmed Oregon TD. Huge turn of events.

did the refs even realize the kid that recovered the ball ran out of bounds and then came back on the field to recover the ball making him ineligible to recover it?

I guess that is one benefit of not having a break away runner. Everyone on Syracuse would have gotten caught. (Of course we would have had to catch it first)

I am ignorant of the rules. Does it matter if he was or wasn't the first one to touch it? I only watched replay once. It looked like it was kicked around on the one before the one guy picked it up and ran.

I don't think so. Obviously not. I don't think they fully realized what was going on. The one ref by the goal line saw the drop. I don't think anyone really watched Oregon run it back. TV announcers and cameras had no idea. It was classic. They are showing the celebration in the Utah end zone, and then they start saying wait what is going on in the Oregon end zone. They did not even notice them running it back. just two Oregon guys celebrating in their end zone. It was sort of what are they doing there?

I don't think you can ever come back in from out of bounds and be the first to touch the ball for any type of play.

Just watched the video. Wow great catch about him being out of bounds. That is a great question if Oregon should have even gotten that TD.

Alabama LSU drama. Alabama fumbles on 10 with just over a minute to go. On LSU 1st offensive play after the fumble both teams tuggle, flag thrown on LSU. Should have been no flag. Officials getting in the game deciding business again.

Yes, touchdown celebrations are a problem we have avoided this year.

Speaking of Utah they were having 1 and 2 win seasons right about when we were. I know Utah is a hot spot all the recruits want to go and all, but even they made it back to a nationally relevant program. This is the type of stuff we have to deal...Reminders everywhere you look that your program is destined to suffer.

Huh? Utah has five 10+ win seasons in the past 10 years.

Damnit it's been a long year I must be thinking of their basketball program. I thought they did a lot worse since entering the PAC12. They had 3 Pac12 wins coming into this year, but looks like they had better overall records then I thought.

Utah making this interesting

And they are 17

We just suck

I think we recruited that LB who returned it for the TD

Yup we did. He was coming here until Oregon offered.

If SU did that instead of Oregon the refs would have said they blew the whistle or noticed that the Utah wr was already out of bounds and no td. That my friends was our year.

utah played our game.. dominated the first half. had a td to go up 14, fumble is return to tie it, had the QB get hurt throwing with no contact, faked a punt down 14 at their own 20 and failed, drove down the field had a fumble go out of bounds and the refs started the clock without realizing it lost time and had to settle for a fg..

all in the first half.. they just havent had to live it for 6 weeks,.

according to some rule sites the recovery was legal because they have different rule on fumbles than on other plays. except for the fact that you cant just run out of bounds and come back in a make a play which is also a rule they ignored.
