UVA used to own us I was told

back around 2008-2012ish we played virginia three teams and beat them

I remember Mike Patrick spent the entire game talking about how Sean Singletary was struggling because he was sick or hurt or something. It was basically all he talked about.

Just watching those clips, it kind of emphasizes how important Roberson was to this team. He might have been the MIP -- not the MVP, or the best player, but we were a different team when he was focused and doing work inside.

And yes, I know that he "only" had 8 rebounds or whatever it was against Virginia--but I remember the pained look on JB's face when he fouled out with ~1:30 to play.

Roberson might have been our most important player last year.

As an eyewitness to his performance in Durham, I agree. A confident Tyler Roberson plays like a beast among prey. If he puts together a brilliant 16-17 campaign, I like the odds of another Orange run.

He may arguably be the biggest "wildcard" for next year, even if the biggest question marks may come from contributions of the guard positions.

I watched the final 10 minutes of the 2nd half vs. UVA on my DVR during halftime of the Golden State vs. OKC game 7:cool:

I watch that run in the second half almost weekly. Incredible stuff. The thing that gets me is how clairvoyant Reggie miller is during that run. Go back and rewatch it really amazing. I notice something different all the time including how much fire JB still has in him. Very animated in the second half.

UVA is a smart, talented team with a great coach. We were 0-3 against them and they were a 1 seed. They are a great program. I like playing Virginia even though they have beaten us 3 of 4. They would trade the 3 wins they had against us for the 1 loss being a win.

Perfectly. Said.

they beat us in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Yes , they had our number and we could and would never beat them, so I was told.

Then March 27, 2016 happened, what a feeling and what a memorable game

Happy Friday!!!

This seems like a drunk type of post...and at 1:41 in the afternoon.

So, yeah, I'm jealous.

Ha ha at the 'Hoos for that one game, though Bennett has done a great job.

Good times...
THANK YOU so much, DB! Three weeks ago I had a little time and thought, "NOW I will leisurely watch the SU/VA game." Went to the DVR, scrolled through the menu, it's gone. Now, you would think I had learned my lesson when the DVR erased the SU/Mich game only two weeks after the Final Four. I was told by Time Warner guy I had to permanently save it - through some kind of mumbo jumbo I keep forgetting - and I should have saved the Virginia game. I hope I never make such a mistake again. (And I will never forgive Time Warner. Nevah!)

Watching those highlights, I experienced a thrill of horror at least twice, as we went down 16 in the second half, fought back a little, and then went down 15 (I think). I remember during the game I began to mentally check out, as did a few others in the room. Soft conversation ensued. A couple people talked about their summer vacations. I had a flurry of condolence texts. And then began our run. When we were down by only half a dozen, a friend from Arizona texted ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? And then the sweetness began to rise.

If anyone knows a way I can watch the entire game, I would love to hear it. Someone suggested ESPN3, but I haven't checked that out yet.

They are a class program ... quality academics, good sportsmanship by fans and players. And of course they've had some talent on the court and along the sidelines the last 3-4 years. I think we're about to start our own streak against them. But win or lose, I like the developing rivalry.

Good times...
Can we pin this? Because I think many of us are going to want to watch this often. I had to go to Walmart after this game, and I had on an SU shirt, and the greeter asked me how they did. I had a half hour conversation about every detail of mostly the comeback. This guy was totally engrossed.

And just think, if they beat us in the regular season and ACC Tournament every year for the next 20, they'd trade them all for the one we got.

I never really got the UVA owning us, even if we didn't beat them. The last 2 years they were way better than us throughout the year, and in 2014 they were awesome and we played them at their place

And both games @their place were very tight until about 5 minutes left. If anything it seemed like a decent matchup for us based on that.
Ennis coming out after picking up a charge completely changed the '14 game as I remember it.
