Shafer said that Syracuse has worked on block-shedding drills this week after a rough performance against USF.

Shafer said the coaches were watching film when they heard a helicopter searching for the suspects last night.

Shafer said he wasn't involved in asking RB Jordan Fredericks if he wanted to start. JF said he was asked beforehand.

Shafer said 67% of Syracuse's offensive production has come from freshmen.

Shafer said freshman hybrid Dontae Strickland was nervous on flight to USF. Easy for coaches to forget so much is new for freshmen, SS said.

this is part of the reason i believe the team came out flat. very new experience for a lot of the guys on the team (contributors). Even redshirts like Samuals and Slayton etc, I'm not sure if they were ever on the travel team.

I think (hope) with an away game under the belt they'll improve.

I heard this excuse a few times. Makes no sense to me. If truly an issue, they should charter a jet and go away for a practice during camp to get everyone "comfortable" with flying.

As if one flight will make people comfortable with flying.

I have had to go to trade shows in place of grown men who were not comfortable with flying. I can imagine a 19 year old kid flying for the first or second time being a bit nervous.

You missed the point. If this is an issue prepare for it. Charter a jet and fly it around before the season starts so we don't have the issue of it being the first time.
