--awesome defense. just awesome

--great win against a very good team on a day when we shot horribly from the outside

--the game perfectly encaseplates that SU thrives when it emphasizes dribble penetration and struggles when it settles for jump shots early in the shot clock

--on one hand, the team did in fact try to penetrate and look for paints in the paint better than any other game this season. But at the same time the team kept Florida in the game by virtue of a couple of stretches where it simply failed to do and settled for early jumpers that clanked

--so much for trying to project season-long playing time by looking at the performances from game to game. JB will play whoever is hot down the stretch. Witness Scoop in the end of the game and taking over while Waiters sits. This will change from game to game

--Way to go Scoop, Triche, Fair and Melo in particular...Wow what a large list

--Why not try to post up Joseph more?

--Alittle disconcerting that James cannot hit jump shot against aggressive defensives and big games

Southerland did have a generally positive effect on the game though. He missed his shots, but only one was a clanker. JB left him in because he was aggressive on the boards and nobody got a corner 3 on his side. He contributed in other ways which is a great sign. He hits his shots a good portion of the time. If he can stay on the floor even when he misses 1 or 2, it means he's not hurting the team and #3 will usually drop for him.
