VARSITY getting torn down?...

correct. its a small private lot that I used to park in when I DJ's at Faegans back in the day. most others got towed from there. I'm a commercial real estate guy so I'm thrilled for progress but I'm also nostalgic and will miss the memories (and some mammarys) from both. If the new Faegan's has a "closed side" I'll still be allowed to hang there, and hopefully still serve myself, but it wont be the same

I'll be sad to see the original Varsity go, lots of memories there and not sure how you transfer it to another venue. Faegans on the other hand, no love lost there for me anyway. Milling about a 5 deep crowd at the bar hoping that the solid bills you gave the bartender as a tip the first time around will help you the 2nd drink and finding out that aint true...I'll pass on amature hour.

Say it ain't so ... this would change the whole vibe and history of Varsity. I might lose my mind if this happens.. Varsity BLVD LLC has proposed demolishing the buildings containing two Syracuse University icons, Varsity Pizza and Faegans Pub, at 732 and 802 S. Crouse Ave..

we spent a couple of weeks upstate in mid august. old forge, skanateles, Cuse & Magnaball

had to get back to life down here so it was too soon to head back upstate

its probably the first fair I've missed in a dozen or so years

Varsity BLVD LLC has proposed demolishing the buildings containing two Syracuse University icons, Varsity Pizza and Faegans Pub, at 732 and 802 S. Crouse Ave. and building new, mixed-use project in their place. The new project would include eight floors of apartments, two floors of commercial space and a 200-space parking facility. Varsity Pizza and Faegans Pub would be tenants in the $64 million project.

Rebuild it and they will (still) come.

Lots of exciting stuff going on up at the Hill.

It'll be a sad day if Down Under gets torn down. I'd be supremely surprised if the Property Managers invite a group of "dirty hippies" into their shiny new facility. Best hope is for DU to relocate down by Westcott, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they didn't just close up shop for good.
