I checked the board at 7pm expecting to see number 6 for Clemson being vilified for a dirty hit and, bupkus. He definitely made initial contact with the crown of his helmet which is the definition of targeting. If Dabo has any integrity he will do what the officials didn't have the courage to do.

I thought it was targeting as well but I have come to expect the very worse from the refs in this league. #10 should have been flagged multiple times for unsportsmanlike conduct and taunting. Total jackhole.

Hopefully in the not too distant future, we will return the favor.

I always dislike this type of stuff. What coach in their right mind punishes a guy for a hit like that.

If you're Dabo you do something because it's as dangerous for the tackler as it is for the offensive player.

Eh - it came back around with Watson getting hurt. Usually does.

Boulware is a punk though.

I didn't think it was targeting. It was a big time collision but I didn't think the Clemson player was targeting or doing anything so out of line that it fell under the "targeting rule".

I know my opinion may be in the minority on that on this board, but I really didn't see it as targeting.

Agree. I don't think the hit is as nasty looking if he wasn't simultaneously hit by Ben Boulware.

This isn't the US Open. Sometimes people forget that this is football. It wasn't headhunting here.

It wasn't targeting. Helmet hit ED's shoulder first, then slid up and hit the helmet. Clean play.

Clemson is the league's sure fire playoff team. Swofford will not derail that train. I feel sorry for the coastal team in the title game, since we know from last year Swofford won't let them win. If he can screw over Carolina blue nobody else will see anything close to a championship game called down the middle.

I'm of the opinion that leading with the helmet should always be a penalty. Unfortunately, that's the way tackling is being taught, thus everybody does it, and it's not being called illegal.

However, I would like to see the interpretation that if you lead with the helmet, and make contact with your target's helmet, intentionally or not, it should be called a personal foul.

I wouldn't be opposed to that.

It may have been targeting by the letter of the law, but it wasn't dirty.

I think Ben Boulware is an extremely reckless player who is making a name for himself on plenty of opposing team **** lists.

That being said. This type of thread makes our fanbase look softer than our team played.

I agree with this. He definitely led with his helmet but in no way was aiming for the head. ED's head snapped as soon as he was hit in his shoulder. Just a crushing shot.

I thought he led with his head. He couldnt see what he was hitting cause his head was down. Led with the crown

I thought it was a clean shot. Bouleware on the other hand. I would not be sad if someone set fire to his beard.
If the board pools its money, we should be able to find someone to take the contract.:)

He was like "what do you mean I can't suplex a guy after the whistle" and the crowd was like yeah, BS call!

I'm beginning to hate Clemson.

Boulware was the one who tried to choke out Lamar Jackson when they played Louisville, right?

It was, I have no problem with it, his suplex was completely uncalled for, I would have gone after him if I had a uniform on.

Yep.

Definitely gives a roided up vibe to me. Also reminds me of the redneck who got "taken to the bus" in Blind Side heh.

The announcers were making light of his insanity. I am all for hard hitting football but this guy takes things beyond the whistle. I was thinking roads as well. He's kind of a small guy so maybe he has a complex about that to motivate him ...

He's the type of player you love if he is on your team but hate beyond belief if you are playing against him.

He is over the top and seems crazy but sometimes a guy like that on your team isn't the worst thing in the world.

Or maybe he's on PEDs.
