Please remember your family and friends who served or are serving. We owe them all a debt that cannot be repaid in full unless we carry it on for future generations. Our nation has been blessed beyond measure.
I am thankful and honored to have served. I was able to learn things I never dreamed of learning, do some things that most people will never understand and work with some of the best people who ever populated this earth. No, I was not an operator, special forces, or anything exciting. Mostly, what I did would bore you, though I did see and do some things that i can’t tell you about (now because I can’t remember them but then because it was classified). If I did tell you, well don’t ask, just know that JarheadJim or “friends” of his would pay you a visit. (Just kidding, military humor)
Thank you to all of you, who, though you don’t know me enabled me to serve. We do crazy stuff in the military, some of it related to the job. Please know that everyone I served with would gladly beat the @%&# out of anyone who attempted to harm this country, and likely still would. Many times we were/are there to stand in the gap and prevent this world of dynamite form being detonated. Mostly, you will never know how close the world was to another war but because Veterans stood in the gap, both sides backed down. No, we were not usually the cause, we were the cure, or rather the salve to stop the burn for war.
Also, please know that none of us could serve with a good conscience without knowing that you were supporting us. You provide the best equipment (I can’t tell you how I know, but from personal experience, I would trust few of the other options). You took care of our families while we were deployed elsewhere. You thought and prayed for us, more so for those who were wounded or killed and their families.
Sure, I complained sometimes about the pay, sometimes the long hours, the endless training, but the overall experience cannot be imitated.
There are too many things to say, they cannot all be said. So I leave it at Thank you.
