Vince Kehres: New DC

Rashard Perry, Fontus, Flounoy, Isaiah Hastings and Ogbebor I would guess are probably the first 5 at the DT positions in some sort of a rotation getting varying amount of snaps.

You also have Jaylen Pray, Elijah Crawford and the true freshman Kordae Houston who is on campus already.

And then you have Haskell and Frazier who are not on campus yet so are probably more likely to redshirt unless really needed. But they do have talent, size and strength so who knows. But i'd guess they don't see more than 4 games.

So a very young group collectively but you have a lot of pieces for sure.

And maybe even Tunmise Adeleye moves inside on long 3rd downs.

But to your original point, I agree about needing a difference maker there. I'm hoping Perry can turn into more of a stud at the position this season. He seems like our best bet for this season anyway. Possibly Ogbebor if he develops fast as he played a bit last season? Others certainly can do it but I would guess it may be a later on. A guy like Fontus will be good and dependable but likely is not going to turn into a difference maker at this stage.

It would be great to have difference makers inside and outside. On the outside It may be possible Adeleye or Keyshawn Johnson are difference makers at the DE spots. That would help a lot.
Not remembering much about Ogbebor, I went back and looked at his thread and then his HUDL from his Junior and Senior seasons. The “raw” description was very appropriate for his Junior year, and reflected in his season stats. He looked like (and probably was) a big athlete just throwing himself around, and even then he was disruptive. But you could see a big change with his senior year. His stats backed it up, too. He was very impressive, especially with the increased attention thrown in his direction. Yeah, “Canadian football, blah, blah, blah…” But if he continues to improve with S&C and proper coaching, I can’t wait to see what he will become!

I love Canadian recruits. I feel like the upside and the hit rate for those guys has been great.
