I love vintage football films and this guy has collected a bunch of them:

I'm especially interested in the SWC Highlights from 1948-60. No, I didn't play then but they are remastered films from and era that I was born into, so they fascinate me. Here is the 1959 version, including highlights of the Texas team we beat in the Cotton Bowl to clinch the national championship, (to modern eyes):

I enjoyed hearing the names of players I had football cards of growing up. Even younger fans should, (I hope) know names like Don Meredith and Lance Alworth. The SWC was very competitive in those days, famous for it's wild races.

Kern Tipps is the deep-voiced narrator you've likely heard doing the highlights of the 1957 and 1960 Cotton Bowls that SU played in. He was called the "Voice of the Southwest Conference" from the 1920's to the 1960's. he has a wry southern-fired sense of humor that in some ways anticipates ESPN. TSHA | Tips, Kern
