How much adulting are coaches required to do for a 23 year old?

I don’t know what the tiebreakers were but imagine if we were able to close against Va Tech and/or SMU. We could have gone up several seeds.

If we were to win both VA Tech and SMU games, then we would be 9th seed and faced Duke on the second game.

Ended up spending the day with UNC fans. Don't judge. Our kids are friends. We ended up at an alumni game watch event in Orlando. I told them all I was a Syracuse fan. It was pretty rough when Maliq ruined their night.

Caught the Cuse game after. Nice win.

I knew something was up because I watched Chaz throughout the game. He was sitting at the end of the bench and seemed totally disengaged. When we made a big play and everyone else on the bench was cheering, Chaz just sat motionless. When the entire team stood and cheered for a big play, Chaz sat and gave a brief clap.

Seems like the earring thing should be known by anybody playing the game, especially a 24 year old. I realize that he was not used to playing, but still...

Great win for the guys on Senior night. For the first time this season it actually felt like an SU game. Everything was familiar again. The team and especially the crowd. Maybe it's just me but I felt like it used to. Felt good.
Red isn't a good coach but the kids like him and play hard for him. To see them being kids and enjoying themselves was great.
Next year is so important for our program. I really hope that somehow Red puts in an enormous amount of work and does everything possible to improve his coaching. Reaches out to JB and others to help. Breaks down film and critiques himself. He has the people part the relationship part of coaching down which is significant. Can him improve the X and Os. Improve his in game skills?
Hopefully he does and we see a completely different coach next season.
Last night felt good. Gives me some hope.

It was legitimately a solid game and a clear cut W. And putting the walk-ons in and Clayton getting a box score was just such a fantastic end to senior night.

I know the season was rough or whatever. But last night was a silver lining. So much better for everyone to end on a positive note. There's a lot of people unsure what to do with their season tickets, I hope it helps convince them to stay. Whether or not Red's 3rd year works out, what comes after that is better if there's more butts in seats.

Well said. Everyone knows we need new players, but there is a glaring problem not really being ready to go in November. The roster and staff needs to come together about 3 months earlier than last year.

That means pushing out the guys quickly right when the portal opens and getting the young guys in the room with the new portal finds especially the new 1 and 5.

This year it still feels like we showed up for the Lemoyne game and the guys had never played together.

My son is up in Syracuse this weekend. Went up with a friend who's brother is a student, and his parents. The boys went to the game last night (get in price for my son... $4!) and they had a blast.

It was my son's first hoops game at the Dome -- he's been to football there, and several away hoops games. He kept sending me pics and raving about how cool it was.

So, even when we're at our lowest the Dome is still an impressive venue for someone who's experiencing it for the first time.

Once we're back (and we will be back) it'll be great again for the rest of us.

Best game of the season. Had five straight games with a ten point lead. I will give Red credit for keeping the team engaged. On the other hand 13-18 can never happen again. The ACC Is terrible outside of three teams. SU should have been at least 10-10 in league this year even with injuries. JW has put everyone on the spot next year is obviously huge. Are Elliot Cadeau and JP Estrella good enough to put this team over the top? Who can they convince to come based on the last two years. It will be a very intriguing offseason.

JJ played about the same as the walk ons. He doesn’t play defense. All that athleticism and no sense of defensive positioning or grit. Great kid and maybe the only one on the team that doesn’t object to every foul call but man is he clueless on D
