A trick play that could go horribly wrong? I would say it's coaching to catch the other team off guard... Especially if "the book" thinks it's a sure thing Syracuse calls a run the first play of the season.

I don't know that we call a run. More likely we call a play that perhaps checks into a run. wouldn't surprise me its more play action throw to a RB though.

Tenn if they think the D is solid wont be selling out play one anyway since they think the Dline is gonna win that battle.

We need to change our defensive philosophy and pick our spots to be more aggressive with TN.
New QB who is known to turn ball over, new RB, most OL is new. Inexperienced players make mistakes when sped up to think and react.

You can see why he threw a lot of interceptions from that video. Even in his highlights, he throws wildly a lot, and into tight coverage. He could cost them more games than he wins for them this year. Didn't really look like a play maker nor a game manager from those highlights. Unlucky for Tennessee... Good thing they expect to have a great running game and a great defense.

Agree. Given the QB and inexperience at WR they will ram it down our throats with occasional pass to experienced TE. Hope our D line can handle or we won’t get off the field.
We need to keep the ball manage short passes, win field position and try to force mistakes. IMO.

I don't know. He initially indicated he has his doubts, but then cited a guy he respected that told him not to sleep on us while touching on question marks for Tennessee. Didn't seem all that terrible.
