Late night, right before putting my son to bed I checked the tracker and saw we were down by 4 with like 3 and a half minutes left. I thought for sure we were toast.

Then I check the board, read some threads, and find out... we won it.

Not gonna lie, having not seen the game and not knowing anything other than the score at one point looking iffy, I'm encouraged. Nice to see a team with zero experience in the backcourt pull out a game like this.

Silent G and Hard G were the stars of the close out

So, you walked away from the end of the game to put your son to bed. I like your priorities.

I think they lost more than we won. The guy who missed two free throws late and then fouled on his missed shot.
Their players played hard enough and well enough to win, but I think they were thoroughly outcoached the last 4 minutes. A 10-0 run in a game played in the 50s and within 4 points the entire half is relatively dominant. JB changed his approach, subbed offense/defense and ground it out decisively, led by two underclassmen.

Good grief. You need to get out of football mode. It was a 2 possession game. How many possessions are left in a close basketball game with 3:30 left? 15? 20?

Should add, I also quickly checked the board at that time and the thread titles were not encouraging.

But, yeah, point taken. Me meathead no think good about time.

I think St. Francis kind of ran out of gas. They played so hard and so aggressively for 36 minutes and they don't have a lot of depth. They seemed sluggish down the stretch.

I thought they played one of the toughest defenses that we will see all season. Their coach tried to save them at the end with those timeouts but it was too much.
