So you are in for a long season if you cannot put up 30pts against a current top 10 defense top 40 last year with 8 players returning, yet your defense is supposed to be world beaters and hold us scoreless lol. There is no logic is most of y'alls thought process.

It's a fan board throwing out WAG's between 2 teams that beat up cupcakes last week. Not sure anyone really knows what either has at this point but appreciate joining in the chest thumping even if you're for the other team.
That said, our defense outscored you 14-7 last year. Your defense could've held our offense scoreless and you still would've lost. Maybe not world beaters but certainly Wake beaters.
i dont think Wake is a top 10 defense any more than I think SU is a top 10 defense. SU needs to show they can score to be decent or every game becomes like last year hoping they can win 14-10 and thats not going to happen often.

last year Wake who had no offense beat Gardner webb 23-7. this year that beat elon 41-3. this year they ran for 200 with one 70 yd run and threw well 75% 30-40 for 400. last year ran for 100 and threw well 75% 30-40 for 300.
if you had the 70 yd qb run last year they stats would look pretty even with more yds passing against an even worse team.
last year the D allowed 120 yds to gardner, this year 150 to Elon . so is the D better because it allowed more yds? or is the offense better because it had one more nice run?
we could win 17-10 but that just means we wont be good as we need to be this year.

Calling yourself a Top 10 defense is just as silly as calling ours a Top 10 D. We have both only played 1 game - against D-1AA competition.
Here's the deal. What is more illogical?
- SU fans thinking they will win at home, with most likely a better defense than last year (you remember that one? The one you were able to score a whopping 7 points against? At home?)
- Or Weak fans thinking they are going to go on the road, in conference, with an inexperienced OL and nothing on O other than a returning QB, and win?
