Wake Forest week...

coach Mac and and Orange out, might be nice to pump that up a bit , maybe an email to season ticket holders, get it out into the 6 oclock news shows

With McFarland back, how much do you think we see of Fredericks? Will it be McF and GMIII most of the game?

I hope Morris is third string at this point.

Questions
1) Will there be another "Fine Mess" Tailgate, and when does it usually get going?
2) I'm looking for 2 tix, anyone have extras they are willing to sell/part with?

Thanks all

Totally agree. Morris looked slow to me last weekend. JF looks like the real deal and needs to get a good amount of carries. Great to see Erv listed as first team, hopefully he is ready to go

HCSS said he was held out the remainder of the game Friday as a precaution and that he would be back pretty quick.

Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer is about to begin his weekly teleconference. Updates to come.

Shafer: Freshman QB Eric Dungey will take 4 of every 6 reps with the first team. Took 2 of 6 during Rhode Island prep week.

Shafer speaks highly of freshman RB Jordan Fredericks. Says he, McFarlane and Morris will be "three horses" this year.

Shafer asked about injured hybrid Erv Philips. He says all injury updates will provided per ACC policy (on Thursday).

Shafer on Dungey: "It's funny because he's almost too quick on his reads sometimes."

Shafer: QB Terrel Hunt is having his surgery currently. Syracuse will apply for a sixth year waiver. "It'll just be a wait and see w/ NCAA."

Shafer said he's never been a part of this kind of waiver. "It'll be a little been of a learning curve for me."

Shafer said Ron Thompson and John Raymon are "full go." Both are taking full practice reps.

Shafer: QB AJ Long is healthy and working on his mechanics. Appeared to have limitations lifted toward the very end of camp.

Shafer said Dungey's feet have caught up to his mind, impressive for a frosh. Showed in his throws on the run/after turning against URI.

Shafer asked about Hunt's chances of a sixth year: "I really have no idea. I'm not that familiar with the process."

Shafer said he wants to see more big hits from his defense. They had four against URI. The staff likes to see 5+.

Not much else notable from Shafer on the call.

I gotta believe Jordan will get 2 or 3 runs in the 1st half. If he produces he’ll stay in.

Interesting that they are going through with the 6th year waiver. I'm sure he'll get it, but to what end? Dungey WILL be the guy next year, unless something catastrophic happens.

He looks way better than Morris. Will be interesting to see how RunDMC looks. He had a nice game against Wake last year.

I asked Shafer if Syracuse would consider moving Womack back to QB or other roster movement after Hunt injury (1/2)

Shafer said they are always discussing the roster but it wouldn't be a competitive advantage to share that info with us (media). 2/2

Interesting. I've seen some people talk about the idea of some Wildcat with Womack. Think that could be cool. Give the defense a different look, and take some of the hits away from Dungey.

With Erv I guess it’s good there have been ‘no rumors’ but on the flip side things are eerily quiet. Not sure to take that as good or bad.
