Wake opens -7…

The skewed hangover from last year is starting to be taken out of Connelly’s numbers. Last year was so far off from where the full roster was that the going in position this year was a joke. My argument going back to last spring is 2019 is the floor to start with, not last year. And that this roster was decidedly better

This team is an average pass game away from being pretty damn good.

Based on what they did last week they are going to start going uptempo in spots and increased use of play action and moving the pocket. Loved the use of crossing patterns and rub routes last week. Now need to increase the pass attempts from 20 to 30 while running the ball the same amount.

Good points, Go. Even if it was "late," I have to give credit to DB and SG for the move to the concepts you noted above. It's a fairly large shift from what they were trying to do in the passing game. Shrader seems to be one of those QBs who actually throws better on the run or from a moving pocket/bootlegs. The crossing patterns, drag routes, and rub routes also seem better suited to the talent we have at WR. I suspect we will see the TE involved more this week.

Seems like a much better match of talent to scheme. Guessing here, but I think the Vegas line being as "low" as it posted is a reflection of some of that.

didnt Jackson get the PI call on a crossing route? No idea why he would run the route that way to clearly get that call.

That was a rub route (if we are both talking about the same play). He set a blatant pick/block - the call was correct. I'm guessing that's because there haven't been enough reps in practice yet to engrain the "rub" concept.

This team is now a lot better then they were against Liberty. If we get about 40,000 it will be so loud that Wake Forest will not to be able to call signals.
Are you serious? The dome has been empty this year. The students are the only people there. At the 50 yard line maybe 20% capacity. I keep waiting for anyone to show up.

Draft kings now has it down to -5.5. I’m guessing since it’s draft kings it’s the public following the lead of media guys like Mandel, Feldman and Connelly predicting an outright Cuse win.

I would think an objective bettor (not us lol) would start to see from real value on the Wake side of the equation at these levels.
