Again, I know that Shy is a competitor and a stud athlete, and that he probably doesn't want to redshirt.  But I honestly feel like this could be the best outcome in terms of him maximizing his collegiate career.  Now, he can challenge to be a 3-4 year starter, without having to "waste" a year where he probably wouldn't start over a group of more experienced players.  Win-win.

Bambrewer--this isn't a "failure" by any means.  This is a good way to maximize his career, long term.  I'll be rooting for Shy big time as his career unfolds, and I think it will be great to have him be a major contributor for 4  years, as opposed to a guy who might not see the field much as a true frosh.
