LOL, far from crazy talk. Dude, I'm a Trojan. Watched the whole game. WMU absolutely gave them a game for 3 1/2 quarters. A couple of mistakes the last 5 min after USC took the lead for good led to a misleading final score. WMU deserves a mention.

If syracuse played a similar game and came out with a 49-31 loss errr moral victory nobody would be talking about how good we look, how big we are, or how fast our running backs are.

Huh? Syracuse doesn't have that kind of personnel or horses. They had a TD on a kickoff return too. Their KR was running away from Trojans. I don't understand what the problem is with giving some praise to WMU...a MAC team at that. I was just impressed with them as a whole. If we didn't stack the box in the 2H it might have been a L. That's how good their backs and OLine was.

Praising them is fine, putting down syracuse to praise them is irritating. Looks like a moral victory to me. We've been there plenty I know what they look like.
 
If WMU was in the ACC last year, I think they are top 3 in the coastal. They were good last year and good this year.

But we beat the best team in the coastal last year. We are not the same team we were under Shafer.

There are teams I'd be sure we'd lose to. WMU is not on that list.

It is what it is. I don't think SU has the kinds of personnel WMU does. It's not putting anybody down. Like mentioned above it was 28-28 with 7 min left.

So you think SU plays Wisconsin to a one possession game like they did in the bowl game? Please.
 
There may not be another game this year with as much talent on the field. Both teams see value in risk. It's really great that teams like this play each other in the first week. The fact that SU is playing LSU on their field has resulted in a lot of criticism on this board. I see it as an intention that SU wants to be seen as a serious player. I vote for that.

It's so refreshing to see a game of this magnitude featuring 2 teams wearing their classic, traditional unis.

Yup. I tried to point that out but it was a fail I guess. That's how good the pieces are around him. Put Dungey on that team and USC goes down. He's going to be good though. He's pretty physical and fast running on the read options like Dungey does.

Agreed. Wassink was good most of the game. Only hosed it up in the last 4 minutes while trying to make something happen. Rookie mistakes that will take care of themselves by the end of the season.

Jimbo has the whole package. Tonight was not his program's night, but his long-term results speak for themselves.

Remind me not to let you in on my program's next coaching search.
