I didn't realize he missed 9 games last season. Any chance they can get it as a redshirt and come back next year? That would be a nice development.

I thought the rule was a player had to play less than 1/3 of the games and this would qualify I would imagine.

No more than 3 games or 30% (rounded up), whichever is greater. He qualifies.

It shouldn't be a problem to get a hardship waiver approved, which would give him eligibility for 2016.

"Lights out" could really be the leader of this defense in 2016 if he is given the "medical" waiver. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Less than 1/3 is sort of stupid. Why dont they give a firm number of games. Eg. We play 12 games and no bowl, he can only play in 3 games. However, if you make a bowl thats 13 games and 4 is less than a third.
