bit low for a Saturday 4pm game against a ranked BE opponent during a January heat wave. there were 23k sold the day before the Wednesday Seton Hall game when it was 0 degrees wind chill and snowing.

if attendance doesn't crack 27.5k, then i'll be pretty disappointed in our fans.

Subtract the roughly 4,000 students that won't be at this game, and there's your number

The students weren't there for Seton Hall either.

This is a disappointing number. I would think the final will be around 26,000.

I too thought there would be more. NFL playoffs are on (I know people dont like to hear stuff like this on this board) and that probably is playing a small part of it.
Plus its a weird time for a game. I will be there trying to ignore the "Put in Mookie" chants from the chumpstains that sit in the back of section 211.

Is that one obnoxious guy still in that section? I dressed down one guy who was in the back row who didn't have a positve thing to say all night back in November 2010.

Exactly, thought that would have been obvious. Apparently the out of towners here for the holidays care more about this team than the locals?

Simple fact is that we don't get many ranked big east opponents at home on a late(ish) Saturday game over the course of our entire schedule [only THREE this year, two if Louisville is not still ranked]. That there are still "those fans" who don't care to attend games until the last 4-5 home games is pretty sad. Especially considering how nice the weather is going to be tomorrow. Fair weather fans who don't show up in fair weather >.<

Oh he is still there allright. Still spewing his wisdom every game. I loved that you said something to him. I've learned to tune him out.

Not sure who I'd prefer in my section... someone like that... or the hand-sitters in my section who turn around and give a dirty look to anyone who cheers, stands, or yells at the refs. Will never understand why those types even show up. Thankfully I think we have already successfully scared away any "down-in-front"ers that had sat behind us, and the section is getting progressively more friendly/fun. I used to think it just had to get younger... but the 90 yr old dudes near me get more excited and have more fun than some of the middle aged wastes of life in front of us who wouldn't clap if it were Boeheims last home game.

BlueCurtain I assume?

I dont mind screamers or people who yell. I also dont mind people who just sit and enjoy the game. The people I hate are the ones who try to encourage the section to stand up when it isnt a "stand up" moment.

The thing that really frosts my ass is when people show up with like 17 minutes left in the first half. Drives me absolutely crazy. Then they can't find their seats. I really want to punch these people. My father actually yells at them. Its hysterical.

We have a new female usher in our section. She holds people back until there is a stoppage in play. Wouldn't you know it would take a female to have a set of balls to do the right thing! Don't you just love the people who stand up in the aisle and chit chat while play is going on, oblivious to the game in front of them or the people who can't see the game from behind them?

It kills me. Last year there were 2 teenage girls in front of me for the Georgetown game. All they did was text the whole game. The one girl kept getting up to use the bathroom or go someplace. The guy that sat next to her after like the 5th time freaked out and asked her "where the hell do you keep on going"??

Couldn't agree more. Maybe there'll be a huge walk-up tomorrow, but the slow sales situation strikes me as weird. Hard to top a 4:00 p.m. Saturday game against a ranked Big East team on a 45-degree day.

Stubhub or some ticket broker owns the two season seats next to us; every game it's some different pair of slack-jawed rubes who show up at about 18:00 with a tray of beers, text until about 1:30, leave, come back at about 18:00 in the second half, text until 4:30 (not waiting until the under-4:00 time-out; apparently it's important to beat that rush), and make for the exits.

I don't know how like 30 different people who buy the tickets for a single game manage to coordinate their idiot behavior like this; it's uncanny.

It has to bemore than that ... doesn't it. Trying to get tickets puts you way near the curtain...like section 318,319, up in nosebleed

I think those fans are funny"...I'm in 210....but I am partial since my dog is named mookie (after mookie Wilson)

Its interesting to hear the perspective on the games at the Dome and contrast that with our fans who take over other arenas and our NYC fans. The NYC and arena conquerers are generally a rowdy, crazy bunch. Those who frequent MSG turn that place into a zoo and i love itttt!!!!

I agree I have season tickets at the dome and after going down to NYC to watch them play made me hate the dome lol The crowd is so much better at the garden I CAN'T WAIT for the big east tournament it's gonna be nuts!

This is now the second time you have had something to say about the men and women of section 211... I can not figure out if you have some secret man crush on them all or if you are just angry that you have not been asked to join the gang. The reality of it all is that I would rather have 1000 of them than 1 person that just sits on their hands or plays with their cell phones for 2/3 of the game. Quit hiding behind the anonymity of a message board and get with the program.

I actually have a man crush on you. Smooch.

Unless you are one of these clowns here is what I have to deal with.

3-4 guys...These guys yell "shoot it mookie" in warmups when he touches the ball. Then randomly during the game (like midway through the first half, tie game 8 minutes left) they start yelling "put in Mookie". Then they laugh at their own stupidity and high five each other. Total give away of a complete loser. Its one thing to do it a couple of times but after the 205th time it gets pretty annoying. They know absolutely nothing about hoops and drink themselves into an olbivion every game so by the end, they are ready to fall over.

I am an absolute maniac at times during the games but have respect towards other people and try not to annoy everyone. When you piss off an entire section (and trust me I am about 25th in line to get to these guys) its time to stop. People wonder why Mookie gets a bad rap. Its because of dickheads like this.

I don't sit far from them and this entire post has been completely exaggerated. Never once have I heard anything in the first half, nor I have heard a word during warm ups. I have never seen any of them drunk to the point that they are falling over. If it is true that there are 25 people that are upset and essentially having their game experience ruined, I have to ask if anyone has ever said anything to them?

Has anyone? Sure. I sit probably 7-8 rows in front of them and I can tell you everyone within 10 seats of me in all directions roll their eyes when they start chirping. One of the guys in front of me has yelled stuff back at them.

Obviously if you sit close you have heard them. Sure there is an exaggeration. Every story has some. They do however say stuff every game. I've heard it in warmups, i've heard it during the game and it happens at the end of EVERY blowout. Its like nails on a chalkboard at this point.

Hiding behind a message board? I've met 50 people on this board. Many of them know where I sit. I'm 6'1" and 250 so its pretty hard for me to hide anywhere.

In the end I am not trying to start a war with you here but I stand firm behind my previous statement that I would take 1000 of them for every 1 hand sitter. Every time I read this site someone complains about a lack of passion in the dome or makes a reference to Cameron or some other arena where the atmosphere is at a much higher level.
