We are wasting Kingz abilities

It is indefensible that a perimeter challenged team went out and brought in a knock down shooter who was better than 40% from three last year, and we have relegated him to being the 7th option on offense, who only gets looks when other guys accidentally pass the ball his way or don't bog down trying to play 1-on-5 to get their own shot.

Poor coaching, no coherent offensive scheme.

He’s too worried about making sure everyone gets playing time. Hes constantly looking for subs. It’s a bad habit
This is a great point. He's definitely pressing to get people run. Can't coach that way.

Souare played 12 minutes. Some of that was because Kyle was in some foul trouble in the 1st half and he didn't want Donnie playing the 5 at all. Once Donnie got going, he was a mismatch in the 2nd half playing at the 4.

Betsey played well. Kiyan had a few good moments. Sadiq was limited to 12 minutes due to Donnie. Nine guys total.

Betsy - 8 points in 16 minutes, Kiyan - 7 points in 15 minutes. Four of the starters had 5 points or less. Why didnt Kiyan and Betsy get more run ????

Once Freeman shook off the rust he was awesome !!!

I agree, I think that has a lot to do with what appears to be rather nonsensical substitution patterns,

Sometimes a coach is a reaction to the guy who preceded him. I've seen this happen twice with my Pats.

They hired Pete Carroll - the ultimate player's coach - to follow crusty disciplinarian Bill Parcells. Three decades later they hired affable, sunny Jerod Mayo to follow grumpy, jerk Bill Belichick.

Some of Red's tendencies seem to be a rebuke of Boeheim's approaches. Immediately replacing the zone with an ineffective man D. Shuffling through 9+ players instead of playing JB's typical strict 6.5 player rotation. The obsession with unity and culture when JB's teams were often a dysfunctional mess.

Not that any one thing Red is trying is bad. But if they're just reactions to the worst of JB then they're unlikely to work.
