We got a Fall 2025 Roster

Grant beck hasn’t been on field for many minutes. As stated was on man down unit for 2yrs, but in that time he seems to do very well n can’t say he has gotten beat or caused problem or goal. Then again very limited time.

Louis D'Agostino and Cam Ryan started the Game with Figueras out, so id imagine its either 1 of them or Donny Scott who I'm pretty sure was also injured.
It appeared he was injured toward the end of the OJLL season this Summer.

SSDM for sure. I'm hoping some guys step up. LSM should be okay. I think Kuczynski's good and Bolognino will be good.

I like Kuczynski - he's got good size and he's aggressive (sometimes overly so, but rather have too much than too little at that position). Was really hard to tell if it was him or Caccamo out there last season given their similar size and the fact that they wore such similar numbers (28 and 26). I don't think there will be much of a drop off. The one thing he lacks is a transition game (scored just one goal on the only shot he took). Not the most important thing, but when you have it, it really helps.

I worry about Bolognino's size a bit (he's 5'11, 161) but it might help to have a speed guy out there. He was thrown in the fire last year forced to play SSDM and he acquitted himself nicely all things considered. It's good to hear he played well in the scrimmages last weekend.

In terms of offensive prowess, the wildcard in Joe Filardi - he scored a ton of goals in high school and I think he may have played man-up. Again, not sure how the year off from playing lacrosse will effect things, but he's got to be a name to watch.

Then of course there is Dylan Sageder, he played as a sophomore on the man-down unit but saw barely any time last year. It's kind of interesting that the SU roster lists him as the only full time LSM. Bolognino is the only one with a D/LSM tag. Not a ton of depth for this position and next year SU only brings in two defensemen total (neither listed as a LSM).

I remember looking closely at 28 and 26 to figure out who it was. Whoever it was would make a good play and I'd look closely. I think it was often 26, but Caccamo made some good plays too.

I'm kind of a fan of small LSMs. Maybe because they often make up for their lack of size with other high end skills, like Fernandez on GBs and pestering opponents. For a #2 LSM, Bolognino should be fine. For a #3 LSM Sagender should be fine.

I wouldn't be surprised to see someone with "D" next to their name on the roster taking some LSM runs. The staff seems to encourage versatility and they don't seem rigid about things like this.

For some reason, I thought the last spot would come down to Dillon Stephens and Donny Scott. They red-shirted Stephens last year and I thought that was a sign they would have him start in 2026. Scott obviously came in with a high recruiting ranking but can't seem to stay healthy. We didn't hear anything about him at the scrimmages so not sure if he is hurt or couldn't crack the lineup.

Ryan played in two games last year. I probably discounted him since he was "only" a three star recruit, and I think he got hurt his junior year of high school. He's a bit smaller than Stephens (5'11, 196 to 6'1, 206). Stephens was a four star and a top 100 recruit, so again, in my mind he would have step up in the battle.

Beck has always struck me as a step slow. He's massive at 6'4, 242, but whenever I see him have to sprint for something, he moves very slowly. With Dwan in the lineup you already have that "big guy" to take on opposing large attackmen. It's very rare you see an attack lineup with two "monsters". I think he's good in those man-down situations, but I have trouble trusting him in the open field.

D'Agostino is interesting. He rose from a three star when he initially committed to a four star. Of all the defensemen mentioned here, he's the smallest at only 5'10 but he's solid at 195 (according to his recruiting profile, the SU roster doesn't list his weight for some reason). He strikes me as the bulldog type. Certainly would be impressive for him if he grabbed a starting spot ahead of the upperclassmen.

The SU defense is so unique with Figuerias and Dwan - both can guard an opposing team's number one attackman, it usually comes down to their body type. I think that means whoever grabs that third spot has to be good off ball and a good communicator. Should be an interesting battle and one that seems to have gotten more interesting after this weekend.

Agreed. Communication and being able to get pick offs, deflections, GBs clears. Basically anything that ends an opponent's possession is important.

Scott is injured, right after I sent that message, I saw him and Figueras walking to class, he was on crunches with some kind of foot or knee brace, I cant remember exactly, so I assume he's not playing anytime soon, at least not in the fall. Stephens is another guy I had forgotten about because he didn't play last year, but I would think he's close to if not the front runner as of now for that spot. I think Scott is the most skilled of all the options, but he is so injury prone I'm not sure he will ever put it together, I hope he does though.

Filardi is the LSM of the future and Bolognino has also been very impressive there when he played some LSM in the pre-season last year. Those two plus Kuczynski will be the three main LSMs I believe. SU likely didn't prioritize the LSM position as Kuczynski is only a R-Soph (Regular RS and Med RS), Filardi a true Frosh and Bolognino true Soph.

Maybe Scott had surgery after the OJLL season.
