This, this, and a little bit more of this. Feel as though he could have killed his man off the dribble time and time again. Put it on the floor and make it happen. It's there.

He's averaging over 20 ppg the last 3 and it's barely making a difference.

How many times do we as fans get frustrated he passes the ball instead of going to the rim, when he's already taking 15-20 shots a game?

There is no reason why Lydon shouldn't be setting a pick for G every possession. Enough of using DC in this spot -- the opponent will either hedge out or double G. If Lydon sets the pick, either G gets a clear path to the rim or Lydon will get an open shot.

I agree with OP. G has to be ball dominant with Mali getting a shot run O every once in a while.

He had 3 fouls really early. I think he was indecesivie and didn't want to pick up the 4th foul, it really hurt his mindset.

Imo we have more than 2.5 talented players and they all need to contribute. G cant carry this team two games in a row imo, or at least unlikely. He needs help. The problem w this team is just too many guys playing out of positions (at times 3 guys). Some games those guys playing out of position create mismatches that favor SU and they take advantage of (see ucon, tex am, duk games, etc). Other games the mismatches go against SU and its too much to overcome. We got killed on boards today for ex

Probably correct. Killed his aggressiveness on offense. That was a harsh 3rd to take under a minute in the half.

This team w its limitations cant afford to make many mental errors. That 3 by TC in terms of shot selection was a major ME for a 5th year senior. That stuff needs to stop for us to have any shot going forward. Go SU!

It just seems like G waits till we're down 6 or 7 points until he starts being aggressive .He can blow by his guy anytime he wants. Hes too worried about being a "point guard" early in games. If im boeheim i tell him "youre the best player on the court no matter who we play, prove that from the opening tip"

That's what happens when you put him back out there with a few minutes left in the half to pick up his third.

In fact, I even called out in the game thread it was a bad idea and would probably be an offensive foul that is his third.

Keep howard in. Maybe he has a turnover or two but you think preventing that is more important than protecting your best player? You obviously need to trust your senior to be careful with two fouls there, but why even risk it? Especially on a drawn up play (presumably) that requires him to drive to the hoop (charge), AND when he has been called for it a lot lately.

Starting the second half with 2 instead of 3 is a big difference in college ball. Might I add... If he doesn't foul out (questionable call or not), g brings the ball up, not cooney. Who knows what happen, but I can almost guarantee the outlook would have been more promising that what we got instead.

It's not like Florida state was up by ten and G needed to be in there with a few minutes left. I don't know, no right answer but I say sit him all half.

You'd expect a 5th year senior to be able to not commit a foul in that situation. That's on Gbinije.
