I agree the BE would not be driving this, but if press reports and speculation mean anything, they are a lame duck as far as ESPN goes. ESPN should be driving the bus here. Why would think care what Providence wants?Pretty sure the BE wouldn't want ESPN to showcase a school that was leaving, thus the DC site. Plus, it's easier to travel from DC to Chapel Hill for the evening.
My guess is that the BE has a limited ability to control what the television schedule looks like and they used a bunch of their limited number of chips to try and set things up so Syracuse left the conference on a losing note against one of the top remaining BE programs. I think it is petty and foolish. I will say one thing for the BE, they are consistent if nothing else.
