Foles is good with a college gimmick offense, stinks with a dinosaur with a moustache, now he's great again in a college gimmick offense
don't trust your defense, keep the ball. don't settle for fgs, score TDs
babers gets it

This is a very important point that I think is one of the major weaknesses or at least one of my biggest complaints with the staff is that we aren't that creative on offense, at least in a positive way. Just because we go fast doesn't make us more creative, in fact I think it actually makes us more predictable. I think a large part of the problem with the offense last year was that, especially given our inability to run, opposing defenses pretty much knew exactly what play we were going to call and that showed with some of the picks that Dungey threw, where the D was waiting on the ball. Our offense needs to get much much more creative with what plays are called and when and how plays are designed because right now it's way too predictable. They made some pass calls last night that were obvious running downs (by nfl standards). It was awesome to seem him be aggressive and buck the conservative system.
One towards the end of the game, stood out to me, (i think around the 30 yd line after just picking up a big first down losing by 1 point) it's 1st and 10 and New England is playing run so the Eagles throw a quick little screen to the slot guy I think who picks up another 10 and fist down at around the 20 yd line. It was a pretty big play at the time imo, and I don't think anyone even noticed. the book says run there and play for a field goal.
I loved at times when they showed the NE d-coordinator and he was almost smirking as if to say you SOB.
Can't stand Patricia.
I feel like there has to be at least one bird living in his beard.

i don't know what situational defense means. philly's defense stunk but their offense was so good, we can give them credit for the only play they made on dYou don't have to be lock down, you have to be good in situational defense and create enough opportunities that you can get off the field without giving up a score more than the other guy.
The Eagles defense sealed the game with that strip sack.
I agree. Playing fast does limit the packages you can run. Don't get me wrong, this is a big step up from where we have been but we are not that creative. This is a very important point that I think is one of the major weaknesses or at least one of my biggest complaints with the staff is that we aren't that creative on offense, at least in a positive way. Foles made plays as a pure passer/statue and running “gimmick” stuff. He made throws in the Vikings game especially where he hung in the pocket like a champ and delivered some dimes.

Pederson is quirky and unconventional with his approach on offense, he hired a solid DC and Schwartz and developed the Qb's and surrounded them with good talent. They really recovered from the Chip Kelly debacle quickly. Pederson has a really good staff as well
Pederson kept at least six of Chip Kelly's assistant coaches. He also kept Kelly's weight training staff and nutrition program.
Plus, he added some of Kelly's offense to the mix when Nick Foles became the starter.
Chip Kelly made a series of horrible personnel moves that sealed his fate - getting rid of LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson and Evan Mathis and trying to get Marcus Mariota - that involved dumping Foles and picking up Sam Bradford from the Rams as trade bait for the Browns.
So, Chip screwed up in Philadelphia, but he did have some lasting impact on the organization.
I think you need to really look at play design before you say we dont have creativiyy in play design.. Dont look at where the ball goes look at where the players are. There is a reason of those plays popped so wide open.. Every play has multiple places each player can go.. if they players dont go into the right spots thats on the players not the play.. also just because a pass is completed doesnt mean it was thrown to the right player . In discussions with people reviewing film there are still many plays left on the field because players dont go to the right spot and the QBs made the wrong reads..
the lack of running game is the killer more than creativity.. you need to move safeties to get big plays most of the time.. if we dont force teams to honor the run with men in the box the passing game gets more limited.
