SU won a game against a 2014 bowl team with someone named Zack Mahoney, who is a 5th-string walk-on that was not on campus this time a year ago. That is damn remarkable. So, serious kudos to Zack. No matter what happens from here, you’ll have a nice little niche in SU football history. I think his performance yesterday is going to get us to a bowl game.
- I thought the O-Line play yesterday was not terrible, but highly suspect. This unit really needs to come together in the next few months if we are going to get to a bowl game. We need to run the ball with more consistency.
- I really think that Bullough is an asset to this program. And I am sure Shafer has a role in this too. That said, the tackling was poor yesterday. Give some credit to CMU’s athletes.
- This is hyperbole, but it seems the only time we look for the tight end in the passing game is in clutch, game-on-the-line moments. And maybe that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
- I think we got the schedule about where it should be this year, but I have one suggestion. When we schedule our annual MAC game, let’s choose Eastern Michigan. They have not had a winning season since 1995.
- So, when do the billboards for Riley Dixon’s Heisman campaign go up in Midtown?The kid can kick it. NFL prospect. Even his blocks are golden.
