We put the "rank" in rankings

Here are some not-so-fun facts...

1) We haven't been ranked since 12/10/2018. That's more than 4 years, or 85 consecutive AP poll releases that haven't included SU.

2) We haven't been ranked in the top ten since 3/3/2014. That's nearly 9 years, or 170 consecutive AP polls.

3) March 3rd, 2014 was also the last time we were ranked AT ALL after January 1st. That's 95 consecutive AP polls.

4) We have been ranked for just 10 weeks total in the past 9 years.

A comment I'll add to the data...

I've learned over many years that in all things - sports, business, you name it - it is incredibly difficult to become great. And it's even more difficult to maintain it. You need to be aggressive, innovative, keenly focused, and a little bit of good fortune doesn't hurt either. Once you slip it is exceedingly difficult to return to greatness.

Jim deserves a ton of credit for the resurgence this program had between 2009 and 2014. Returning to a level of greatness as we had between 1985 and 1991 was truly remarkable. The man deserves all the accolades for that.

However, it's been a long, persistent decline over the past 9 years, and I don't think anyone believes that JB is the guy who can dramatically alter that trajectory.
