We simply lost to a HOF coach

Roy Williams is terrible. UNC was horribly prepared and unfortunately for us, they just have too much talent. We got beat by a better team, no doubt, but if you look at the game, he really does a terrible job preparing and managing a game.

Our weakness is interior defense and has been all year, they scored like 50 from the paint. Isn't that managing the game well? Isn't that a solid game plan?

they made some very difficult shots, is that great preparation or players playing well

How many open dunks did they make while the guy was wide open from the weak side 3 feet from the hoop?

Amazing how Roy just rolls the balls out there and his players magically knew exactly how to beat us. Just like they did with every other team they've beaten by double digits in this tournamnet

What's amazing is he just rolled them out and took out a fellow HOF coach by 17. What a lucky coach.

Right, you have a bizarre agenda against him. Syracuse just played UNC in the Final Four, and you're posting about Tony Bennett? Are you a Syracuse fan? Nobody cares that you think Tony Bennett is over rated. Nobody. He's the coach of Virginia, go post about it over there. You're reaching obsessive stalker status. Has Tony Bennett rejected you in some way we're all unaware of?

Not to mention that they play unselfish ball and rarely take bad shots. Oh yeah, that's not coaching.

Roy's obviously a good coach.

Yes, he's had a career with Kansas and UNC players, but if he wins a Championship on Monday he joins K, Wooden, Rupp, Calhoun, and Knight (off the top of my head) as the only coaches with 3 NCAA titles.

If he loses, he's stuck with guys like Donovan, Pitino, and Dean Smith with 'only' 2 championships.

Do people really think titles grow on trees or what? How the hell are Calhoun, Boeheim, Wright, K, Calipari, Bennett, Self. Donovan, Williams, Izzo, etc supposed to win a title every year? People get ridiculous...

And yes, I know some of these guys aren't coaching anymore, but they've all crossed paths...

With all the JB and Cooney bashers in hiding during this run, it's nice to see that Poppy has stepped up to fill the void of board provacateur.

Wow, man.

Jb is a better coach than Roy, we lost because Unc is loaded, there is a reason why they were preseason number one.

But certainly not as overrated as Tony "best coach I've ever seen" Bennett.

You do realize that UVA is one of the top schools in the country and those kids he plays are actually expected to attend classes right? Roy has never had that concern.

The solid game plan was just jacking up threes and hoping they'd rebound and put back? They played street ball and they're just too talented when they forget their coach and just start playing.

My wife's from Chapel Hill, I've watched more UNC basketball than I'd like to admit, and I'll be rooting for them Monday. But if you take out the talent levels, he's not a good coach. Just talking x's and o's. Great recruiter, obviously pulling in better players than Dougherty, but his best skill behind the bench is letting his players do their thing and him just getting out of the way.

Roy is good but not the best. Yes he gets more talent than anyone minus K and Cal but that doesn't always translate to titles. He does a great job with guys that stay and that's what he has this year. I get frustrated when guys like Ennis and Grant leave but guys like Brice and Paige stay because we all know that it means they get better and we start from scratch. Who knows what Roy tells them but his guys stay for some reason. But hell we made it to the Final Four in a year we had no business doing it. Accept that Roy is good. He isn't the best but he can coach.

Is Washington State University also one of those schools with high standards?

His first 'ship was with Dougherty's players. Other than that, I'm right there with you. How many NBA players has he had and he's only got 2?

Wow, man.
Right, so you started a thread following a Syracuse vs. UNC Final Four basketball game... about Tony Bennett. Wow, man.
