Ohio State with a convincing 15 pt win over Michigan while we "were handed a win by incompetent officials who should be suspended". Hyperbole aside, Ohio State is good.

Ohio State is a fantastic team that very well could win a national title this year, but I can't for the life of me understand how any reasonable minded voter could rank them ahead of us with three losses.

Ohio St is definately good but I dont get how Michigan has a 20 in front of their name. They are no better than WVU or Cinci imo.

But they didnt have Sullinger in some of those losses!! How would you feel if we lost a game on the road without our star Center? ;)

I agree 100%, but I could care less though as long as we can keep winning and end up with #1 seed in the East.

Because it's subjective. If a voter deems them to be a better team than they'll vote them ahead. Most people don't care how well we played a month or so ago, they watch us today and that's what they're voting on.

Depends on what you feel the purpose of the poll is.

If you think its a reward for past performance, you'd put SU ahead of OSU

If you think it's a snapshot on that particular day (Sunday night/Monday morning) each week, you preference the team with the greater current momentum.

If you think it's meant to reflect where the teams will finish the season, i.e. who the better team truly is, then you vote accordingly.

It seems to be a mix of 1 and 2.

If I had to rate who I felt the 5 best teams in the country were-- not based on record or whatever else, I'd vote
1-Kentucky
2-Ohio State
3-UNC
4-Cuse (with Fab)
5-One of the Big 12 teams (they each take their turn looking real good)

I don't care that FSU beat UNC by 30, they played the game of their lives and literally didn't miss--I don't expect anybody to shoot that well against them again. Syracuse could definitely beat any of them on a given night, but I think we have more ? marks than the 3 teams I have ahead of us.
