Amaker was replaced by Louis Orr, a respected assistant at Syracuse. Despite a pair of NCAA tournament appearances, none of Orr's teams were particularly talented, and Orr gave way to Bobby Gonzalez, the hot-tempered coach who'd been in charge of Manhattan College. Not only did Gonzalez fail to make the NCAA Tournament in four seasons, both he and his players were involved in a number of off-court incidents. Just months after getting fired in 2010, Gonzalez was arrested for shoplifting, giving Seton Hall further public cover for their decision to cut ties with him.
