Pitino in a reverse role on his knees begging Uconn to stay. Hilarious!
Uconn has every reason to go. ACC equivilent basketball now, more money and better football. Not to mention Duke and North carolina for womans basketball instead of Notre Dame and Rutgers.

On top of that with Pitt, Syracuse and BC being the northern powers they can add a extra northern market. I still think the ACC should grab Temple if they don't want Nova. The Philly Market is worth the grab for recruiting alone.

http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2011/09/home_away_from_the_dome_syracu.html... This would be total bullshit if they ended up playing Duke and UNC in NYC instead of the Dome.

Two questions:

1) Would the schools make more money playing in the Garden or the Dome. They are talking aoubt getitng 60,000 in the Dome, which emans they will move the court to the 50 yard line. What arena in NYC could come close to matching that?

2) These two quotes stand out:

“We look forward to bringing ACC games to the Big Apple.”

“I’m really looking forward to the day we get 60,000 Central New Yorkers in the Carrier Dome for Duke or North Carolina,” Cantor said. SU remains committed to keeping those games at the Dome on a regular basis, she said.

That sounds like it wouldn't be our home game that is moved to NYC- it would be theirs.

SWC: I like the idea of playing Duke and UNC home games in NYC. I would not mind if we had some there also, but only if evenly divided with their home games.

Meanwhile, it seems that Pitino is running scared.

She must be lost. Last time i knew. And i been here 37 years.Syracuse NY was home. I see a whole lot of locals giving up season tix if this moronic plan of Cantors goes though. We don't need NYC to support our hoops team.We do just fine right here.Jeesh, if she does move the biggest hoops games to NYC. is gonna hit the fan in CNY.

I DIGRESS. didn't take jimmy b long to come out and say there is no way they are moving regular season games to NYC.Good move.I'm guessing they have got A LOT of calls in the last hour.

I can't imagine we'll play ACC games away from the Dome. That wouldn't make any sense.

Also, 60k would be nuts. I want to see how they try to pull that off.
