Boeheim said during a podcast interview with ESPN's Andy Katz on Tuesday that he's encouraged Hopkins' search efforts.

JB: We Won't Know DCII's Status Until September (PS; Carlson)

Syracuse men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim spoke with ESPN's Andy Katz for apodcast released Tuesday that was full of interesting Syracuse news.

The most important news to Orange fans, at least in terms of the immediate future, was Boeheim telling Katz that Syracuse won't know Dajuan Coleman's status for next year until September.

"We're really hopeful he'll be back," Boeheim said. "He's working out now. It's a slow rehab process. We'll know more in August or September. Right now we're very hopeful."

Coleman has dropped at least 24 pounds since undergoing surgery thanks to a juice diet, assistant coach Mike Hopkins said in April. At that point, Coleman had only just begun putting weight on the leg.

Cavs GM David Griffin Laughs with Dr J After Getting #1 Pick Last Night

Cavs Continue Streak of Lottery Luck; Get 1st Pick in Draft (theeagle.com; AP)

The Cleveland Cavaliers would prefer to be known for being good, not lucky.

Maybe next year.

For now, disappointment is replaced by disbelief, as even they are amazed by their remarkable run of lottery luck.

"It was incredible," general manager David Griffin said Tuesday. "When Cleveland didn't pop up at nine, I knew obviously we had moved up and I had to gather myself for a second. Just a remarkable feeling."

Familiar one, too.

The Cavaliers won the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft for the second straight year and third time in the last four. They moved up from the ninth spot, when they had just a 1.7 percent chance of winning the top selection.

Looks Like Syracuse Native Andray Blatche Will Get to Play for Philippines in FIBA Championship (netsdaily.com; Net Income)

Andray Blatche may or may not be a Net in August --he said he would opt out of his contract-- but it looks increasingly like the 6'11" Syracuse native will be a member of the Philippines National Team at the FIBA World Championships in Spain.

Two days ago, a powerful Filipino senator, the son of an ex-President, expressed reservations about granting Blatche citizenship and other opponents skeptical of Blatche's intentions suggested he come to the Philippines while the debate continued in the Senate. Then, there was an outcry by Filipino fans and everyone seems to be backing down.
