That's my biggest frustration. I look at Harper who in my humble opinion has done a good job. This staff had him absolutely buried. He is a red shirt sophomore who until this year made one appearance against Wagner. He was never listed on the depth chart until Bear got hurt. If it wasn't for the unfortunate circumstance of Bear getting hurt, Curtis Harper would still be buried. Harper has 8 total tackles, two sacks and a deflected pass that led to an interception against NC St. My only real complaint that I won't back down from is that this staff is to freaking stubborn about giving guys a shot. They allow the same guys to make the same mistakes over and over again with no consequences. I watched Georgia-South Carolina on Saturday and a Georgia OL false started on an important 3rd down and Smart yanked the kid and replaced him. When I say replaced him, I mean right then and there, right after he false started and his replacement was in for the important 3rd down. Didn't Coach Babers say that after game six, they would re asses to see if the current OL is working. Well what do you think the answer is? I said it earlier and I will say it again. No changes mean the cupboard is bare not only for this year, but for the next several. How is it possible to miss on every OL recruit. But apparently that's what they have done. Friday might be ugly. These coaches will not try different kids and I don’t get it.

I did nothing of the sortyeah 10 win seasons are an anomaly, so let’s start tearing down the guy that has achieved the only one since 2001, just like the know nothings ripped the guy who got 3 of them, or the guy that got the only two winning seasons in between.
It doesn't mean that. There could be guys the coaches recruited as projects and they aren't ready this year. The poor performance of the OL this year means that they don't have a good OL ready for this year. We don't know what the real story is, regardless of what everyone here thinks they know.No changes mean the cupboard is bare not only for this year, but for the next several. How is it possible to miss on every OL recruit. But apparently that's what they have done.
Is that right? Not what I hear.He isn't cleared yet or apparently close so that wont be a problem.
I see Richards and watch him and he plays fast and aggressive wherever. He is 6’4” at 230 with speed. He gets off blocks. We did this last year with shy. What aren’t they see in practice. Cause all I have heard is he is a freak and a stud on the field in practice so what is missing. Could ward who does lb just be wrong.Maybe because they’ve seen everyone for weeks and the backups don’t perform as well. It could be worse.

And I agree with that. The telling part last year for shy and Richards was there tackling abilities and how not to get blocked on st. That’s why I wanted them to play more.None of us are at practice, so there is no meaningful way of knowing what, if anything, is limiting Richards playing time - apart from the staff's opinion that the guy playing ahead of him gives the team the best chance to win at this time. But, I'm with you, his physical talent is very obvious, even during ST plays.
Without checking the numbers, my "sense" is that his minutes have been gradually increasing. Maybe that means that the mental side is starting to catch up with the physical talent.
I don't know, but I'm back to side eying Ward.I see Richards and watch him and he plays fast and aggressive wherever. He is 6’4” at 230 with speed. He gets off blocks. We did this last year with shy. Put Duerig at center move Serva to tackle sit Vet or Alex. Serva is way too light at center. He gets blown up and doesn't allow Tommy to step up. Duerig has 55 pounds on Serva.
He is getting blown up. His lower body is built to be a tackle. The center is typically the smallest guy on the line. If you want to say he is too tall, that I would buy.
So trueI don't know, but I'm back to side eying Ward.
We have the most puzzling stuff going on at linebacker. It feels like we don't develop them, they just emerge out of necessity and seniority.
I would say he is generally the shortest but not always the lightest. I mean the greats like Stephenson at Miami and the Dallas guy 15 years back maybe but they also didn’t get driven back into backfield too often. Most 1 tech nt are big big big. 310-350. Them hall of famers were incredibly quick and explosive. We don’t have that lolThe center is typically the smallest guy on the line. If you want to say he is too tall, that I would buy.
Yeah usually the thought is is they can get under and up and move them. Usually. Most teams that we have played have starting centers that are 30 pounds heavier and 3-5 inches shorter than Serva.
