Week 8 of season-specific reminiscing -- 1996

It was 30-0 until a minute left in the 4th quarter. The game followed the 10-7 loss to Miami in which 7-0 WV lost on a last second blocked punt. The emotional hangover ruined the rest of the season for the fans and team. Mountaineer Field was a morgue for the Cuse game and no one wanted to be there.. which was evident from the performance WVU put on the field that day.
Wow, that's a weak minded team. You have a chance at a one loss season and you fold because of one tough loss? I don't buy it. We could've folded after our start and managed to take VaTech behind the wood shed and put together a good season.

That's on Don Nehlen then, because you still had a ton to play for. If you win out, you go to the Orange Bowl to play Nebraska. I mean you guys were still ranked 18th when you played us after having been unranked to start the year.

Exactly. I was just about to post the same thing, but you said it than I could have.

Big Nehlen fail, if true.
